Who's in for a ride across the Zürcher Oberland? I'd like to do something like 100kms with (of course) a few little climbs
I'm not exactly sure of the route, so feel free to make suggestions! I create this event on the calendar because otherwise the suggestions get lost in the middle of those long threads and nothing gets done...

Let's go and make the most out of this nice weather!

The meeting point is Bellevue Tram Stop, at 11am.
RSVP'd Yes: 2 (2 members and No guests) RSVP'd Maybe: 2 (2 members and No guests)
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

Considering fact that I have to ride to the lake some 25km one way it already makes it 50km for the day just to get to Zurich and back.

Can I make 150km per day on my bike???

I would say some 50km ride for me would be perfectly fine but dont know about the others

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

depends more on your saddle than on your legs jacek...

at least for me... after 60km I can't stand the saddle anymore but the legs still can go on and on....

BTW, sylvain is a superhuman mountain goat, so if you wish to follow you'll have to be ready for that ;D

You can always bring your bike on the train and get started with all us.

I doubt I'll be able to follow for long, but, I'll give my try.

It depends on who comes and where we go... My initial thoughts were to go South / SouthEast, so meeting at Bellevue kind of made sense. Depending on who wants to join, we can of course make some other plans.

What's that supposed to mean?... Is that good or bad? Does it mean that I can fly or that I stink? Both?

Seriously though, we can perhaps also go for a flat route if you guys prefer. This might make it easier for everyone to enjoy a good ride in this early season.

It's good

I will come and follow you, you don't have to adapt your ride to us mere mortals, just do it, If I can keep up with you, great, if not I'll go my own pace and try it again next time.

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

Ok, I just realized that the tyres of my bike are completely flat and that the pump I got for free doesn't work properly.
Do you know if it's possible to have the tyres inflated at a gas station?

I havent made up my mind yet whether I will go skiing to Andermatt or go cycling. Chances right now are left at ratio 50/50

We meet at Bellevue Tram stop at 11h00. I have no idea what time we'll be back (17h00 is rather "on the safe side").

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

Ok Bellevue then.

If you need air I have a good pump at home in Enge, just the other side of the bridge from Bellevue

So if you wish come to my home a little before and we'll pump your tyres

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

Unfortunately I confused Bellevue tram stop which is at the lake side with Bahnhof Enge and Mythenqui. I also cycled 25km one way from my place to Zurich and it took me 1h instead of 45 min as I assumed it. I arrived to the right destination too late. I quickly informed SL and we met at Küsnacht we did some rides for 20 km or so and I headed back to Neuenhof. Today I managed in total 75km but mostly flat terrain with only few uphills with SL. It was fun though. Next time I will take a bike on a train thus saving a hassle with being too late. Apologies to those who waited for me long

BTW: Thanks Sylvain74 for your message but I already started cycling to Zürich when you sent it.

Not to worry Jacek: it was a nice sunny day and it seems that you and Salsa_Lover could enjoy some pleasant cycling. We'll get better organised as the season goes on

Re: Zurich, Sunday bike ride

After I left the two climbers to Silent Hill, I cycled till Rapperswill, had an Italian lunch on the shore of the lake and then came back. Result: first tan of the season and marble legs.
Overall, great day.
