A forum member just put this excursion onto the forum social calendar. Maybe some of our crafty people are interested ?

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

I have my next shopping tour on the social calendar on the 6th of November, and after that I am hosting a tupperware party on the 27th of November (on the 'commerical' calendar).

After that, I will be planning another crafty morning. Please PM me if you are interested - and tell me if a Tuesday morning 9-11am - would work for you - or Saturday afternoons 2-5.

I've moved, so the location would be Adliswil, short walk from Adliswil train station.

Thanks!
Swisspea

I can't do Mondays, but Tuesday 30th is possible.

I'll put a craft morning on the social calendar for Tuesday 30th November, Adliswil.

Hey - just to let interested people know that there is a knitting group that meets on thursday mornings, friday evenings i think, and one other time (forgot). They organise themselves through Ravelry (check out the swissknits group) - the most fantastic website ever if you knit/spin. They meet at various times, and would love to join forces i'm sure!

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

Hi all - is this stitch n b*tch craft circle or the knitting group in Ravely still going? Just had a look here and on Ravelry and I wasn't sure what was going on at all. Would love to come along to something that's open to a crocheter turning up for some craft and conversation!

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

Do you want to meet up during the week or in the evening or weekend ?

I was thinking of organising another shopping tour later in the month, and I could do a craft morning on a Thursday end of Jan or early Feb.

Hi Jessica! I'd definitely be up for this! I'm only casually working as a supply teacher now, so I'm free in the mornings as well But, I'm on my honeymoon till mid-feb. I just got the Happy Hooker book for Christmas, and as a committed and experienced knitter, I'm finding it really hard to learn.

I crochet a bit, have never been able to knit. Would love to join, but am also free only after mid-Feb - we've just moved and we're sorting stuff out, and then we're off to Holland for the first 2 weeks of feb. I'm fairly flexible.

Hi juliamargaret - I'd be happy to try and give you some crochet pointers. I am a lefty, so that might complicate things a little, but I'm sure that having a person there who can help translate/show you how it works might help a little.

There are also some really great crochet basics videos on youtube (there's a user called crochetgeek who I found very helpful when I got stuck). I found that actually seeing someone do a stitch and talk through it helped a lot when I started learning. I actually haven't been crocheting very long, but I went from learner/absolute beginner to totally addicted in a very short period of time!

As far as I'm concerned the more the merrier (whatever your craft of choice is) and I'm definitely very keen.

In terms of my timing, I'm pretty flexible. Monday mornings and Thursday mornings are out because of my German classes, but other than that I can fit in with whatever suits other people...

Any suggestions? Also it sounds like starting in a few weeks time might suit people better?

existing stitch n b*** group in Zurich

Here is an established group I am already in for just this thing.

New members are welcome.

http://www.meetup.com/ZurichStitchandBitchMums/

You do not have to be a mum (or dad) to join. Just have a keen interest in knitting or stitching in a group.

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

ooo, this would be great! I was a knitting teacher, so I tend to be good at following instructions and I know my yarn! At this point, Im pretty bad, I can make a chain and that's really it.

It seems like there is already enough interest. How about starting a weekly meetup? Finding a time/date that works for everyone will be a nightmare. I suggest Tuesday mornings, if the majority of people here are free during the week.

Does anyone know of a good location? Perhaps a Starbucks that is empty at this time of day (Central is out). I wouldn't want to just show up without giving them notice.

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

Tuesday mornings definitely work for me.

I have only been to central Zurich and only a couple of times at this point, so I might need a little advice on how to get to wherever we pick to meet up (if someone can guide me to a bus stop or similar that's close by, I'm sure I can figure out the rest online).

Re: Stitch and b*tch: crafts circle [Zurich]

I'm sure we could help you on that! It doesn't have to be in central Zurich, just somewhere that is good I live in Opfikon now, but am moving to Winterthur in 2 months. Are there any ladies here that have a suggestion of a place to meet before we make an event?
