Cook'n'eat

Last year I went to a brilliant team event with my work to Cookuk in Aarau.
It is a very large kitchen with two chefs who split the team up to many small group and together and with the chef's guidance we cooked one brilliant meal witch we of course ate together afterwards. Personally I have to say, I have never cooked something so good and I'd love to do this again as I had really great time.

So it came across my mind if we could try an EF cook'n'eat night. I see from the web that if there are more than 30 persons, there is a group discount. Since Aarau is right between Basel and Zurich this could be something for residents of both of these cities. This is actually fun both for those interested in cooking and those who are just more interested in eating a good meal in a good company, since the levels of difficulties are many in the groups.

So let's see if there is interest, and if it is enough interest, I'll check with Cookuk if they can meet us.

Re: Cook'n'eat

Definitely interested, but maybe somewhere easier to get to? I know they can't move their kitchen but Aarau is not exactly eay to get to... maybe if someone could give me a lift from Zurich.
Btw, how much is it per Person to cook?

Wie kommt man mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ins Cookuk?

"Mit der Bahn nach Aarau, ab Bahnhof Aarau sind es 10 Minuten zu Fuss
Wegbeschrieb"

You're not up for a 10 minute walk from Aarau train station ? You're sure you have the energy to actually cook in the first place?

so you want the Basel people to come all the way to Zurich to suit you instead?

Sounds a great idea Begga - i assume it's all in English?

They seem quite pricey. Plus train fare. What kind of a discount are they talking about?

Laughing Lemon are nearer and cheaper.

again nearer for us Zurichers - but i think Beggas is suggesting this place as a joint Basel/Zurich event - it being in between

I was wandering off a bit I suppose. I looked at the price and remembered Jack and Silvia, which came up "Oerlikon" and that seemed to solve Miss-Lizzy's problem.

Re: Cook'n'eat

Great to see interest
When I went there at least one of the chefs spoke English, but our recipes were in German.
I'll contact them tomorrow and check with discounts and if they can make English recipes.
It seems a little pricey, yes, but we did spend the whole afternoon/evening there when I went, and had loads of fun and the food was amazing!

I think it takes only about half an hour both from Basel and Zurich to Aarau, and I don't think that is that much, at least I don't have so much problems to go to Zurich social events, even though it takes a full hour It's worth it if the people are fun
