Re: Spanish in EF?

As I have posted in the past, there are plenty of Latin Americans and Spaniards at least in Basel, but they seldom mix up, go figure out... Many associations exist out there: the Mision Catolica, Circulo Latinoamericano de Basel, Nosotras Basel, AMEX (for Mexicans and friends), Union (quite international) and lots of other organisations and spontaneous meet ups.

You know, in general we are not so formal as most of the Europeans are; most get togethers are arranged by facebook, a phone call or an email, not many of Internet forums supporters.

Want to meet people? It's just a matter of listening at Spanish speaking people around the river in summer, or in Barfüsserplatz in Winter. Most of us are friendly and will engage in chat with complete foreigners.

They seldom mix because many Spaniards consider Latin Americans to still be "from the colonies" and have an arrogant opinion towards them.
