City/Town: Zürich
Event Type: Drinks/Bar
Meeting Point: Widder Bar

As we all know, Smoking will be banned from Public bars and restaurants from Saturday 1 May, so this Friday 30 April is the last chance to enjoy a smoke in a public bar, or the last evening, where you have to put up with the smoke, depending on how you see it.

Lets celebrate this in style by having a Cigar and a Glass of Whisk(e)y in the Widder Bar, Rennstrasse 7, Zürich.

They have ca. 300 different Single malts to choose from, ranging from CHF 13 to CHF 600, and of course they have proper Ash trays and Cigar cutters available.

RSVP'd Yes: 1 (1 members and No guests)
  • Doctor - Even if I don't get permission to spread the ashes in the Limmat afterwards.
RSVP'd No: 3
  • krlock3 - Cigar ban cant come soon enough! Enjoy and have a good night though.
  • NSchulzi - Sadly not, but enjoy. I love the smell of cigars!!!
  • Texaner - Later I'll burn a Villiger over here for solidarity — but probably after you folks have retired already.
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

It's a No. 2, my favourite of the Montecristo. As some people know, it's girth that counts.

My favorite is the Romeo y Julieta Churchill. It's also pretty fat.

About this smoking ban, does this mean that you can no longer smoke cigars anywhere in public? I find this hard to believe. Not even in certain hotels? What about private humidors?

I have never understood this smoking ban.
Why couldn't pubs have a picture of a big cigarette above the pub showing it is for smokers.
If people didn't want to drink in a pub, they could go to a non smoking pub with a picture of a cigarette crossed out above the pub.
Or is that just too simple?

I don't and have never smoked but gathered smoking was a social relaxing thing.
