Re: Anybody in Bern?

Nice, I wonder is it possible to contact by name, and phone number by Private mail, so that we can catch each other easier?

Yes. The idea is to maintain communication like minimum 1 time per month. I am just very curious to see how this thing will go. To be honest I am very positive about it.

Because we are in the middle of Summer, I don't know how it will be for August, but from September and beyond I think it will be cool.

Also on Friday we can choose when and where we want to meet again.
Let's work as a team friends !

Re: Anybody in Bern?

how about creating a calendar event for this so that people can find it easier than finding this post... I can do that if you'd like... then we'd also know how many people are actually turning up...

btw hello everybody... I am Bernese too... ummm, that did come out wrong... well for the past 2 months I am... and I'm so glad to see anything apart from Zurich on this forum

Re: Anybody in Bern?

If you don't find anything happening in Berne, it could be tht you are looking in the wrong place.

Try http://www.meetup.com/meetupberne/calendar/

and also http://groups.yahoo.com/group/swisscc/

and you will find hundreds of people and lots of activities.

No we are not going to all join the English Forum, even though it is very useful. It is too much work to post things everywhere, and hundreds of expats in Berne are used to the meetup and swisscc, which has been running for ten years now.

Looking forward to seeing you at events in Berne.

Graham

I think we'll be able to figure it out, we'll be a bunch of English speaking people standing around.

Re: Anybody in Bern?

The day has come !

Thanks Graham for the info. It is true that in Bern there are happenings going on.

And today we have this one as well

Because the specific point of gathering is not SO huge, definitely we are going to recognize each other. I will try to be there like 19:15 just in case.

See you everybody !

It's Bern, nothing to feel bad about it.

The specific gathering point is covered so at least we will not get soaked. And the area is full of coffee places so I think we will not have a problem in finding a place to stay.

See you all in a few hours.

Re: Anybody in Bern?

I would like to thank everybody for coming today. It was nice and the place was interesting too.

I will be gone for vacations during August, so I probably see you in September.
( unless of course someone has a similar idea for gathering during the next 2 weeks )

Let's keep it alive, folks. Bern is a nice city too.

Re: Anybody in Bern?

Fellow Berners... keep up the good work. Im out of town for the next couple of weeks, its summer holidays u know.

Because of the lack of Bern activity on this forum, as most people have found its very Zurich-centric I have found myself at the English Speaking Club of Bern (ESCB) on Friday nights. Its a little bar with pool table and its not actually that bad - weird entrance though but you soon get past the fact its underneath an apartment block. Everyone is there to chat and very friendly. Anyway just putting it out there.....

None-the-less I`ll see some of u guys at the next EF Bern Chapter meeting (as long as there is beer - I`m not so cosmopolitan to do coffee meetups of people Ive never met before)

Ciao Robert. I am also member of the ESCB so we will meet soon, either at club or on a future meeting in Bern. Enjoy your vacations and see you soon for Barrels of beer. Sounds good ?
