The Viadukt is just under the rail bridge that crosses the road so you can't miss it.

If you turn up after 8pm the front doors are shut, so you will have to shimmy around the back to where the restaurant is.

not this time. but the waitress wanted us to put all the money together, she didn't want to do the math. Being charming as we are, she did it.

Long story short. It took her, even with the help of some of her colleagues, an incredibly long time to work it all out. There was still some monies outstanding at the end which Prof. Taratonga, Billhardie and I settled.

MN and I know this story well. The last time we were at the Viadukt, we had to leave in a bit of a rush to catch our train. I tried to catch the attention of Our Most Lovely Hostess, but she, quite reasonably, insisted that we pay the waiting staff as she was responsible solely for the bar.

Fair enough. It took me a good ten minutes to get the attention of a waiter, despite standing at the waiters' station, who then proceeded to try to close the account for the entire table. I stopped him, left some cash with a trusted friend, then we had to scarper.

I still have no idea if we left enough cash, so if anyone has been left out of pocket, I'd be grateful if you could let me know. It was the evening that we sat outside under the arches, Nicky brought the little 'un, and I spent most of the time flirting with a small furry person.

Was it Suzanne, the slim, pretty, long dark haired lass with the knee melting smile? If so, she has only just started..... and if you insist, I'll have a word in her ear on your behalf
