Just saying the last time Uncle Max was being serious Ronald Reagan was living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

| | Re: (Unofficial) Thursday Night Drinks at the Viadukt Market | Quote: | | | | | This is in the Social Events, right? This thread is offering an unofficial social meeting for anyone interested, right?
People are friendly exchanging words, preparing for a social event that will happen later. Why is this wrong? I know moderators have a hard time, I'm a moderator myself somewhere else. But I don't get why this thread should be a cold hearted fact posting thread... If it wasn't for the friendly tone on the previous 50 pages, I wouldn't have had the will to join today...
Cold fish outgoing I can do anytime with my dear swiss neighbours... | | | | | You read the last 50 odd pages and question why it's "wrong"?
I'm not sure which is wrongererer; to have read all of this thread or... free beer, ya say..?
Soon time for a new thread. This one's crook. | Quote: | | | | | I want more "Modfree" Events. | | | | | For their own good, Skippers never dine with the crew etc.

How long do closed threads stick around again? It would be nice to reference this thread at the start of the new thread. To me, it just seems odd to say: "we have been going (unofficially) to the Viadukt for about a year now, but there is no reference of it, but join us anyway". If the closed thread sticks around for at least a month or so, I see no reason not to start a new thread (and I can do it again if you want me to)... | This user would like to thank JLF for this useful post: | |

It has over 1000 posts and only the brave would read all of it - although I understand some people went to the cinema to see the film Australia and sat through that as well.
As most of the posts are of the Fluff variety, there's a risk of fire. Dust chickens the size of buffalo wander the lost mid pages. The basic info remains the same: location, time, everyone welcome, transport.
Universal social event threads tend to dissuade rather than encourage. A new thread for each event may be more appropriate.
Thanks.
