Re: Bern Livers & Lovers

Why do these events always seem to be scheduled on a Thursday? Or midweek? Any chance for a Friday/Saturday/Sunday schedule sometime soon?

Sorry I will have to miss this. Been wanting to go to one for ages but somehow Thursday schedules never seem to work out for me.

<sigh>

mostly as most people have things arranged for weekends with other halves, kids, work etc.

if we can get more than ten interested for a Saturday, will definitely organise something, as it will be worthwhile.

when we get a decent break in the weather, am looking to organise a BBQ either by the river or on the Gurten some Sunday.....

Ok peeps, looks like we are ten in total, so will arrange a table at the Kleine Schanze .... weather is expected to hold up ... last resort is the Pickwick (Wallgasse), which is a 2 minute trot if it gets really nasty ...

Stefano,

Click on the link in the invitation Kleine Schanze, it will give you all the detail you need. Just beside the Parliament buildings (Hirschengraben side)

see you there ...

Re: Bern Livers & Lovers

I woke up this morning in a tent, with a sore head. It must have been alright.

(Thanks everyone, especially P for organising, was lovely to meet you all and chat about all sorts of things, looking forward to the next gathering).

Yup - it was fun indeed. Even if they did cancel the last two buses home without telling anyone, resulting a slightly shambolic walk home over four km, stuffing my face with yoghurt when I got in because it was only then I remembered I hadn't had any dinner...

Re: Bern Livers & Lovers

Always nice to meet up with nice people, totally enjoyed myself, even if it was only for a couple of hours.

Sorry to you Blaze for that most hasty leave taking at the station, but my frantic scramble meant I caught my train, with only seconds to spare.

I was glad, as missing it would have been a 'petit pain' and I don't mean those little French rolls,,, an hours wait in the Bahnhof without a book isn't really my idea of fun.

I was like you Colonel, hadn't had any thing to eat, so I was 'Starvin like Marvin' when I got home. Yoghurt wouldn't have done the trick at all, so rounded the evening off with a big plate of pasta and pesto sauce and it was Good!!

Wednesday, hope your head is better by now, blame that murky brown stuff they were trying to pass off as beer Sorry Polorise, I wasn't impressed with it at all, apart from the cool schooner it came in.. Serves me right for being greedy.

Look forward to seeing you all again soon, cheers,,

Ros

Re: Bern Livers & Lovers

No worries for the frantic departure Delphinium Blue. I myself was also just in time for my train. Yours was 36 minutes past the hour mine was 37 minutes past and I also would have had an hour to wait.

I must say that I enjoyed the weiss beer a lot. I ate a sandwich before starting so my stomach was ok when I got home. I downed about two litres of water during the night and woke up in the morning feeling more sprightly than when I go to sleep sober!

Cheers all! It was fun.

Re: Bern Livers & Lovers

Well as Polorise wrote, perhaps we could have a Saturday night meeting with drinks and dinner if we could ensure more than 10 people could make it? Saturday night is normally the best time for me. I also liked the idea of a barbeque on the Gurten.
