| | Exercise with Wii or Xbox
Do you exercise with a Wii or Xbox? Do you really get a real workout from it?
I'm considering getting a Wii or Xbox for Christmas for this purpose.
Do you use any particular games or accessory?

See here: did Wii fit you (Nil's thread).
It did for me for at least 6 months. Now, it's mostly the boys. I may get the Michael Jackson Wii game for Christmas, and try out some boogieing work-out then. We have the balance board, steering wheel and extra nun-chucks. The balance board is a must if you ask me, it's great for Wii Fit, and you can't do nearly as much as without it.
The X-Box with the kinetic sensor looks cool. I would definitely have a look at that now before choosing a Wii again.

Having had both I would go for the Wii. It's so much more fun and I love the fact it gets me off my bum | This user would like to thank mimi1981 for this useful post: | |

I can't give you an opinion on the Xbox exercise (though I hear the Kinect is a lot of fun), but I will say that I never really got into exercising with the Wii; it got boring quickly. I find it a lot easier - and more enjoyable - to push myself in the gym or on a run. But if you can stick with it, either one is better than nothing!

I didn't want to embarrass her, but she doesn't read these, but I was thinking about getting one for my wife. We don't like to go running when it is cold outside. And yes, I would use it also if it is worthwhile.

There will be a flood of cheap Wii's as people upgrade to the Kinect.
I got shot of my Wii and now have the Kinect. The 360 can now do both hardcore gaming and now the family type games that the wii was famed for.
I would go for the Xbox 360 and Kinect

I like the accessories for Wii, e.g., free-weights, rifles, balancing boards, etc. I wonder if Xbox 360 has as many.

I have the Wii and I like it. Never tried the Kinect, but the ads look good.
I have all the Wii Sports and Sports Resort and Wii Fit games, but I'm not much of a "repeating exercises" person. The best workout I get is from the game "Dance". There's a second version out now which has more songs.
I believe there's something similar on Kinect but I've never tried it.

I have been using Your Shape: Firness Evolved on the Xbox with Kinect for several days now; the Wii fir & Wii avtive that I have will now be staying in their cases. The Kinect system is just so much better.
