Yes, here most indoor courts have a carpet ( with artificial sand ) surface.
Prices are high ranging from CHF 25 to CHF 50 per hour.
I was playing with some guys at Opfikon, we paid 25 per hour at 8 am.
If we are many and can organise some doubles tennis, the costs at the evening ( around 50 CHF/h ) would be ok for me.

Can we perhaps hit a ball on Tuesday/Wednesday evening? I have been staying in Zürich for 2 weeks only and I guess I need a little bit to study the area before I will be able to find rifght location. Would it suit you?
I know of one club close to Stettbach called Schumacher (sports club). Prices are round about 50CHF. Better it's to get more people but singles are just as good |

I'm looking a tennis partner too, I don't care if you play singles or doubles as long as I can hold the raquet and play the game..I hope you can play somewhere in basel or in grenzach-wyhlen..They have an indoor tennis court here and it cost 15 euro per/hour, not bad if we are too many to play...I hope I can play with you guys....I missed tennis so much..

Hi, I just read through this thread and wondered if any sort of trial game had been organized. I would love to meet up with some other tennis players, I just moved here and have found an indoor court (Sihltal in Langnau) and am keen to get a regular game going and/or perhaps have group (3-4 player) lessons. I am a decent beginner (can serve, play for points, consistency is a bit lacking but I can manage some good shots - though need to stop looking surprised when I do!). Please let me know if something is in the works that I can join up with or if not, if you are interested let me know and I can set something up.
thanks!

Hello kmt.
I am up for it.
We organised some meetings at the summer but the winter came and it faded away.
In my case mostly because I find the cost of courts on winter ( some 50 CHF per hour ) high., I started playing with another 2 guys at 7am on fridays but the court is far from my place and then it was not practical for me to go there and then go to work at the other side of the Canton.
Anyhow I've been itching to start playing again. I was on hollidays during december in Southamerica and was playing there ( there is the summer )
Let's see if we can organise a meeting for next saturday at a centric indoor court and maybe we can have a regular weekly tennis, doubles or singles.
That club at Langnau is specially expensive, it costs 62 CHF per hour on weekdays... ummm.
maybe MarcoPolo would be up for it and also vertexx and the other that have been posting.
I'd propose to meet at the tennis courts at the Tennis Club Lenng, it is in the city Hallen TC Lengg
Bleulerstrasse 41
8008 Zürich Location Here
Prices

Hi guys,
It's great that lots of people seem interested in this! I'm definitely interested in playing a bit more. I'm playing with some friends next week at the Schumacher club in Dubendorf, which I believe is in the middle of Zurich. When I get there, I can find out how much it costs - I suspect it won't be that expensive - will get back to you.

Hi,
I live nearby Stetbach and Schumacher sport's centre. I checked the prices and on Sat/Sun flat rate CHF49 per hour. How many players do you have? If you need another one I'will be able to play on Saturday |

Is there anyone who would be willing to play tennis on so called R4 or R5 level, that's where at best I could classify myself according to Swiss ranking system from R10(beginner) to R1(expert)?

Sorry I posted and then fell off the map. Anyway, I cannot play this weekend but it sounds like there is interest. Club Lengg might be good middle ground for most as suggested. If there is interest in playing next Saturday or Sunday (2nd and 3rd of Feb), please speak up and I will see about booking a court at Lengg. I will be out of town this weekend but will check in on Monday.

Anybody else who'd like to join? I'v just moved here, (actually commuting every second weekend) but missed the tennis in Zurich this winter, and would like to join you guys. There is a slight risk I may be on a business trip, but I will be able to confirm a few days ahead.
Regards

Hi,
Salsa lover, do we have a court for Saturday at 6 pm?
If so, it looks like we have three players right now: you, me and ChrisNor. I may be able to find a fourth (colleague at work), but as there was interest in the forum previously wanted to see if anyone here wanted to join first. Anyone interested, please post a reply.
Looking forward to playing!
