Yes, the more the marrier the fact that we live in Switzerland does not mean that we are sexists .
I'll be away over the next 2 weekends, but please post basketball sessions so we all can loose some fat and gain some muscles.

Hey Pouria,

Is the hoop behind Aldi that you are talking about free of charge or do you have to become a member of a club to be able to play there ??

Thanks,
Kash

Re: [Zurich] Basketball Club

Hello all,

I'm 25, American, and very new to Zurich, will be here 1 more month until the end of August, then will come back and be here permanently starting late October 2008.

Are the Olympiakos practices/pick-up-games free or do you have to pay? Everything in Zurich seems to require money, quite different from the free pick-up-games found all over the states.

Lastly, if anyone knows of a court in Zurich that people frequent on the weekends AND is free, please post it for us newbies that just want to stay active playing basketball.

I'm one of many that is up for a weekend game at a couple days/week notice.

Jon

Hi Guys!

The weather is great, and this weekend (27.07.2008) we plan to organize a basketball game on Sunday @ 16:00 either in seefeld at a school called münchhalden, or rämibüh. Will keep you up to date tomorrow! Anyone is welcome to come!

Re: [Zurich] Basketball Club

Hello

I'm a basketball coach/player from Los Angeles with plenty of experience, occasionally you can catch me out at the Bakeranlage Basketball court, but the competition is a bit disappointing, sorry guys. I need a more competitive level of HOOP, I'm a great resource to the game itself and can be of invaluable help if anyone is willing to improve their game pro or pro-to be. Contact me here and we can figure something out. This is no nonsense to contact me if you are serious. Also, if someone could point me to a gym where there is a high level of basketball being played I would appreciate it. I will leave an email that I will check just for this reason, byron.clark1@gmail.com so write me here or there, and no worries to weirdos and spammers, if it aint about hoop it will be deleted.

Players and coaches take notice, I coached several successful AAU teams and have assisted in numerous players making it to the NBA and top notch division one programs.

See Ya

Re: [Zurich] Basketball Club

Moderators, please do not delete this post, the email I left was created just for this reason. I've been here for one year and it has been extremely difficult to tap into the basketball culture.

Thank you

Basketball in Zurich (for women)

G'day everyone,

First-time poster here - be gentle

I've done the Google searching and the EF searching and I know someone's already asked the question of where to play a bit of casual basketball in Zurich but after reading everyone's replies to that posting I didn't seem to see any answer other than to contact Olympiakos (which I did but they don't have any teams for women unfortunately) so here I am starting a new thread asking if anyone knows of any WOMEN'S basketball teams in Zurich to join? OR, if any women out there are interested in getting together a few people for regular games, let me know.

Any tips/hints/suggestions are totally welcome.

Thanks and cheers,
Emma

Re: Basketball in Zurich (for women)

Good Morning.
Do you have a double? Two people with the same Forum name? If so, please let us know so that Admin can sort it out.
Or didn't you realise that my name is Look-it-up Longbyt? I cannot find an Introduction post for 'either' of you but "Epiket's" post count is three and I find two other posts in 2007. Are you one person? Still living in Geneva, or have you moved to the Zürich area?
I found this Pfaffhausen Club in Google . Looks as if they have a Ladies Team. Pfaffhausen is not so far from Zürich if you are really keen to play.
The Wallaby Basket Zürich Regensdorf actually trains in Oerlikon.
Hope this helps.

Re: Basketball in Zurich (for women)

Ooh, forgot that my profile still listed Geneva. Thanks, I just changed it to Zurich (moved here from Geneva back in May), and updated my profile with a couple basics (always better to remain a mystery as a woman they say). If there was another epiket on here that would be freaky...

Thanks a lot for the info, I'll check them out
