Re: Skateboarding Tips and Lessons

Hi Stealth,

If you check http://www.pumpwerk-bs.ch/index.php/kurse.html its only in German but has courses in Basel, its the local skatepark.

In regards to which board.....it depends on what type of skateboarding you want to do. If you want to do tricks, ride in the skateparks etc then you need a traditional skateboard where you could probably get from here http://www.beachmountain-shop.ch/

If you want to do something more about speed, fluidity, style and general getting from A to B then I would recommend get an "Airflow" slalom or longboard Skateboard www.airflow-skateboards.com beach mountain probably stock them as well. There are other brands but Airflow is my sponsor so i'll mention them.

Hope this helps, have fun and note that skateboarding take a lot of time, effort and practice! Good luck!

id say airbords as skate boarding has absolutely noting to do with snowboarding. I m very good at boarding but put me on a skateboard and ill make the most awkward moves imaginable

@ Stealth, I would say that some of the flexy boards from airflow give a good snowboarding feel, especially if you get a board with sky hooks because then you can hook your feet under and perform jumps.

Those board were actually what got me into skateboarding because I wanted something similar to snowboarding for the summertime. They have much softer and bigger wheels than traditional boards so are faster and effortless to use and the boards have a flex in them which gives a really cool ride.

I could never skate normal boards, can now a bit, and was immediately able to pick this board up and ride.

Get yourself to www.roll-laden.tv there you can hire/borrow/try all different kinds of boards before buying and they know there stuff and are not a commercial company.
