Where to fish this weekend?

Anyone got any recommendations as to where to go fishing this weekend? Up to 2 hours drive out of Zurich, but the nearer would be better. I don't have a licence, so somewhere where i can buy a day pass or don't need a licence. I'm looking to catch carp or perch.

Has the fishing season actually started yet?

Re: Where to fish this weekend?

Okay, so, I don't really know alot about fishing, but I know a fisherman who went to Soubey today.

I found this website, just so you can see a bit about the area, but if you have a google you can probably find some more info to your liking...

I went there last week for a walk in the forest, was absolutely beautiful, and collected a wee bit of wild garlic on the way!

And I checked on google, and it takes 1 hour 58 from Zurich!

Re: Where to fish this weekend?

Thanks for the info, but it's a river. Therefore would more than likely need a permit and to have passed the fishing exam, erm which i haven't! So would be looking for lakes or large ponds where you don't need a permit or you can buy a day pass. Nice try though!

Anyone else got any ideas?

Re: Where to fish this weekend?

Chapfensee on the Flumserkleinberg between Flums and Mels is a stunning location. You can actually walk around the whole lake in less than an hour but has lots of little bays and inlets.

I went fishing there 2 years ago (but didn't catch anything, but that's not the point). You can get a day permit from the Fish shop in Flums (strange opening hours though) or from the Tourist office in Bad Ragaz and maybe in Mels.

Thanks Grumpygrapefruit.
I have just phoned the tourist office at Bad Ragaz to enquire about a permit for Chapfensee and she said the lake is not open for the fishing season until May. She said i could get a permit for Giessenpark for tomorrow, but i can only get the permit from her office today before 4pm. I won't get there in time now, so will have to put off my fishing trip for another day! Ho hum
