Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

Quick query - for summer are "we" keen to re-establish Footylist?

My kids are getting a bit older so I'm thinking that a kickabout 2 nights a week after work might be fun.....

If there is enough interest I'm sure I can get the site up to date again.....

FC Hard - The Final Countdown

Hi all,

Another week goes by, another update, but this time stuff's just got real!

We won 8-2 at the weekend against the 7th placed team, which leaves the table looking like this, going into the final game of the season...

Luckily, this is still in our hands, as our final game is against the team 2 points ahead of us, Affoltern.

This is where YOU come into play. I've set up the event below to try and drum up a bit of support for the team. Our game is on Sunday 10th June, at 13:00, by Affoltern train station...Why not warm up for the evening's Spain vs Italy game with some proper grass roots football? Whilst we might not play too much tiki-taka, there will certainly be plenty of passion on display and it promises to be an entertaining afternoon!

http://www.englishforum.ch/social-events/147917-fc-hard-championship-game.html

I hope to see you there,
The Goalkeeper.

Re: FC Hard - The Final Countdown

Hi,

Are you still looking for players to join your team? Of course I don't know exactly what is the level in the 5th league in Switzerland but I played in Netherlands in the 4th league and I assume is pretty close. So if you're still looking for new players let me know.

Hi Stir,

I'm a new arrival in the area. Where do you train/play? When?

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

At the moment, we train once per week - Thursdays, 1900-2030 at Saalsporthalle, near Sihl City.

Sunday is our last game of the season, but I am pretty sure training will continue until we start next season...I will find out.

As of next week, all will be welcome to come along to it.

For anyone undecided about this weekend, it seems a spectator of ours made a highlights collection from last weekend's win, enjoy...

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

Hey Stir,

I clicked the link but was sent to Youtube's main page. I think I might have seen it last week, was this the highlights from the 8 goal win?

It looks like I will be freed up from a social requirement on Sunday so I'm going to make my way to the grounds to watch. Any possibility of rain cancellation or do you play regardless of the weather?

Cheers

Thanks LT, have corrected the link (hopefully!), yes it was the one of the 8:2 win.

I'd say there is almost 0% chance of it being called off for rain, unless it is in biblical proportions. In fact, I'm hoping for heavy rain, I think it'll give our team a bit of an edge!

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

Well, well, well.

Unfortunately we didn't quite make it.

A combination of shall we say, unusual tactics, and a superior opposition put pay to our hopes of promotion this season.

Many thanks to anyone who came down and watched, or anyone who's enjoyed following our journey this season, it's been fun!

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

Well, well, well again.

I have some fantastic news to report!

Due to finishing as one of the country's best second place teams, and having an impeccable disciplinary record, we have actually been promoted to the 4th league!

We will even be entering the Swiss cup, so fingers crossed for a big draw eh? Zurich or Basel will do

So, hooray for Hard and hope to see some of you again for some matches next season, or at least sporting some of the no doubt soon to be released replica shirts / scarves / etc

Personally, I will be taking a leaf out of Nicklas Bendtner's book and will be attempting to get my underwear sponsored, ideally by KFC or at worst, Burger King!

Hi All. Chris here, somewhat new to Zurich, originally from North Carolina in the US. I am living in Seefeld and looking to join a football team. Seeing that your season is over now will you all have weekly trainings til the next season starts?

Cheers!

Chris

Hi Chris,

If you PM me your email address, i'll add you to our pick-up game list that will be running from now 'til mid August. Same for anyone else looking for a game.

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

So I see this thread has been dormant for quite a while. Most of us have now graduated to the senior team who have been a yoyo side for the last few years, getting promoted and relegated in successive seasons.

This brings me to the real reason for necro-ing this thread - we still need players, more than ever really.

Are you 30+, or know anybody who is and looking to join a football club? We would be glad to see anyone new coming down to training. We are currently in the close-season, and will start playing again some time in August, but in the mean time, training continues.

If you would like to come and have a kick around, with a view to joining our team, you would be more than welcome. As mentioned, we were narrowly relegated last season from the "promotion league" and will be looking to go straight back up - we have a squad capable of it, but it is getting a bit thin with people leaving the country, etc etc.

Hope to see some of you down there - if you are interested, please drop me a PM and I'll sort you out.

Cheers,
StirB (still goalkeeper!)

Re: FC Hard - Your Forum football team

Hi all,

Quick bump on this - we are now in the mid-season break, with games starting up again around March/April time.

We have lost a few players through injury or moving back home and could definitely do with some new faces.

As you can see here we (senior 30+ team) have won 7 (we lost our first game to Srbija due to not having enough players available) in a row and sit second in the table, a point off the top...
