group rides/riding partner in Sion area

Hi all.

I live in the Sion area, I have been riding a road bike since last winter and am wondering if any of you know of a free riding group based in the Sion area or close by? Or maybe someone reading this lives in the area and wouldn't mind an English speaking riding partner? I have been riding alone and it gets very boring. I am an ok climber, I climb every weekend (as part of my training). Between flats and climbing I cover about 400km a week on average.

Alternatively, if there are any beginners reading this and are thinking about getting serious about riding, I would love to be able to help, ride with you and share my training schedule.

Thank you all, any help would be appreciated. I love riding, but riding alone is really starting to get to me

hi Helia

I moved to the Valais region last Feb and am a keen biker too. I used to do a lot of road biking before I came here but decided to do more mountain biking now that the mountains are at the heart of this area.
If you would like to join a fellow english rider for the occasional bike ride I can help. For more regular rides its best to ask around. I live in the german speaking part of Valais close to Sierre and don't know any people in Sion so it would be great to keep in touch.

Tom

Re: group rides/riding partner in Sion area

Hi Tom,

Thanks, sounds great! I ride through Sierre at least once a week so maybe we can sort something out through PM's.
Whenever you are up for a ride just let me know.
Thanks again.
