I use this link, that was sent to me another EF member, to check the daily water temperature. Today it's 18 degrees, which is a tad cold for me, but we went for an evening swim every day for several weeks until 14th September. http://www.badi-info.ch/zh/kuesnacht-kusenbad.html |

Hey guys,
I've just landed in Zurich for two weeks and was hoping to have at least one dip in the lake. I've got my wetsuit so it shouldn't be too bad, right?
Also, I'm here with work - a radio station based in London - and thought it might be fun to record a couple of interviews with people about what it's like to swim in the lake at this time of year.
If anyone can offer any advice about where to jump in that would be great, and even better if you'd like to meet up and talk about it for the radio!
More than happy to provide more details before we agree to anything.
Thanks so much,
Bill

Slammer was in the water yesterday, out to Tug 2 and even though the temp has dropped to 24° I braved the icy water and went for a swim.

I managed to miss these new posts this year...
Personally I only pop in for a quick dip but I do know people who still swim long distances, both with and without wetsuits.
The best link for water temperature is here, that's a direct link to the source of the data in Blueangel's post http://www.tecson-data.ch/zurich/see...enbrunnen.html
We have a mailing list set up and if anyone wants added just PM me.
bbiillll, it's most civilised to jump in at Sauna Enge who will charge you CHF5 for the showers. Don't go on a Monday though, unless you are a woman. We will most likely be there on Thursday lunchtime, drop me a PM and I'll add you to the email list. If you're still around on the 4th December, there's this: https://www.samichlausschwimmen.ch |

Love cold water swimming. Used to be a morzh (walrus) back in my Moscow days!
Do you know if Sauna Enge does annual pass?

Have you transitioned to wetsuits at this stage on the Zürisee? I've finally received my new suit (found a bargain) and am keen to test it out , but don't want to go it alone.

Hi Moe,
If you PM me your email address, I can add you to our mailing list. Personally I'm not a serious swimmer and I don't use a wetsuit, I just decrease the time in the water as it gets colder, but there are people in the group who are more serious swimmers and do use wetsuits.

Hi, I am keen to do some cold water swimming in a group 3 - 4 times a week preferably somewhere between Meilen and Zollikon, but happy to travel further less frequently. Any suggestions?

Hi there
I usually go swimming in Letten (near Platzspitz Park at the Zurich HB) 1 - 2 times a week.
Are the people here still actively going swimming? I would love go as a group.
