I'm coming to Switzerland for a couple days with my Mom who is visiting me in Europe while I'm on exchange here in Austria. We want to go skiing in Switzerland (yes, I know Austria has great skiing too but she's always wanted to ski Switzerland, and I get to ski Austria all year).

We can't go any more west then Zurich though.

With that said, what are your recommendations for staying at? And reasonably priced accommodations, or even a BnB would work great.

I would stay in Austria St Anton or Lech/Zurs can't beat it !

It's OK, what sort of skiing do you do? Off Piste, or cruising the blues?

I'm a freestyle skier, but I'm up for anything. We are both advanced skiers though, I get out 40+ times a year back home. The more powder the better, and long groomers are defiantly not my favorite, but they're still fun.

I know , but I am a bit biased I agree Davos is great , buy just lacks charm, Arosa i've heard is pretty good as well!

St Anton, Verbier & Chamonix should be on your short list.

If the OP wants the best places for powder, he may have to travel, get up early in the morning & even hike uphill, crossing a border should not be an issue.

Davos Is ace!

In February You should get enough Pow, and a choice of 6/7 Mountains, One dedicated especially to Offpiste. You have a nice park too (though for park you should go to LAAX).

You can get a single / twin / three person + room for very affordable prices, with dinner and breakfast. And the lifts are only 5-10 min walk!

Verbier and Chamonix are indeed great- but not if you are coming from Austria! Arosa is great- and if you want to make it very special arrange a tandem parapente 'jump'. Fantastic train ride from Chur - wonderful.

So a slight change if plans. I can now go anywhere in Switzerland, so what's the best? I'm going to St Anton a couple weeks earlier with some friends so I will hit that too.

How about Ischgl (Austria) and ski to Samnaun (Switzerland). The two resorts are joined and have one ski pass.
