Nike+ SportWatch GPS - anybody own one? how good is it?

Hello to All,

I am thinking of getting a Nike+ SportWatch GPS to start running again. I quite like all the features, simplicity of use and the fact it is a gadget

Here is the amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/Nike-SportWatc...1867050&sr=8-1

A few online reviews mention instability in the GPS and issues with the Nike+ site but generally speaking people seem to be happy with it. does anybody have any experience with this in Switzerland? IS the GPS coverage good? Are you happy with the product?

As alternatives I looked at Garmin and Polar but they either seem to be more expensive (when adding the GPS), bulkier and definitely not as cool

any thoughts?

I think my cousin has some Nike gadget that is tied on your shoelaces and measures the distances you go without GPS connection. I am using my mobile with endomondo and I can get GPS track, speed, altitude and calories burned for the exercise. If I can find a blue tooth heart rate monitor it can calculate that one too. The reason I use endomondo is that it's very simple, you take your phone with you anyway, doesn't cost anything and endomondo is like facebook for exercise where you can see the workouts of your friends and even compete with them, you see where you or they have been on a map at each point at what speed/altitude...Very neat.

Plus it calculates the combined distances of all your workouts in relation to the distance from the earth to the moon...Isn't that cool?

If you're a serious runner and you like gadgets , get the Garmin. I have two-Foreunner 305 and 405. It's amazing what you can do with them. After training just turn on your laptop and connect the 305, or 405 download wirelessly ,and you see your performance-distance, HR, pace, elevation, calories, the course on the map, all the graphics you want.
The lasat model (wich I'll get for Christmas), the 610, it's touchscreen and waaaaay smaller and watch-looking than the bulky 305.
The Nike looks ok but do you want it for running or for the look?

I looked at both and was undecided. I'm not a serious runner but hopefully this will help me to be a better amateur runner
