Pausing a Gym Membership (3-4 months) - odds?

Hi all - are about to join a gym and just wondering about the idea of pausing it in the summer. The reason is, am going to be working aboard for 3-4 months mid year.

Just wondering - is it common in Switzerland for gyms to allow you to put your membership on hold for a period? Not currently a member so can't ask the gym

PS - thinking of Activ Fitness

Thanks

Re: Puase Gym Membership (3-4 months) - odds?

It depends on the Gym. The one I'm on has the possibility to skip a month per contract (which I used because of an injury).

When my injury turned out to be worse than expected and I had to pause for a longer period of time, I talked to the boss of the gym, who is a very nice understanding lady, and they froze my account till I completly healed.

If you haven't joined, you can simply ask Activ Fitness before you sign the contract.

Re: Pausing a Gym Membership (3-4 months) - odds?

If you check the GPC of ActivFitness they state that it is possible with a proof from your employer and paying 20Fr.

The GPC are available online http://www.activfitness.ch/Vertragsb...?ActiveID=1206
