Good to know -Ryffel Running

I am in no way affiliated with the above and this is not ment as an advert, but being a runner if you are looking for the type of shop such as runners world or profeet in the UK, Ryffel is one of the closest to this model that I know of. So for your "little black book" of good to know places if you need gear, insoles, courses etc. Just received my new catalogue with some tempting goodies in it.

Can be found at www.ryffel.ch and it's located near Uster.Good for runners, Nordic walkers, general fitness, does courses for general and serious runners, including marathon training and marathon camp training.

Happy to hear of other good "runner specific" shops or outlets that people come across as I find some of sportxx and so forth a bit too general and there is a bit of a lack of them here in CH or maybe I just don't know of them

Re: Good to know -Ryffel Running

I was directed down the wrong path by them many years ago - and then by a succession of expert running shops selling me different shoes to fix different problems.

There is a cult of runners on here who have chosen the minimalist route (something Ryffell does not agree in) - with a noticable reduction in injuries and increase in running happiness.

Re: Good to know -Ryffel Running

Actually thanks for this as I agree with you, although I had good service at Ryffel but each person has their own experience and that's what counts. I do run with insoles since they work for me, but that doesn't mean that's right for everyone. Less is defintely more, actually the one bit I don't like in their current catalogue is a course to teach people "barefoot running" which I find laughable.

I just posted the link in case people might be interested, but each to their own, most important of all is to enjoy one's running however we all go about it.

Wishing you happy running

Good call on the barefoot course - it could be fun to attend one of those in vibrams/luna/inov8
