Re: Soccer 5-A-side pitches

normally i dont reply to people who call football soccer, but...

here you go.

http://zuri.net/fussballplatz_zurich_8615

german page
http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/mm/mm_al...al_plaezte.htm

german page
http://www.hobby.ch/pages/sub.asp?ast=1354743736

without german language its hard to find what youre looking for.
google fussball platz zürich
platz zum tschute zürich etc.

use http://dict.leo.org/ for translation.

i think there is an office (department) for such inquiries but again you might need german to get through. might be they have a list that they can email you.
there is no booking page, as there is no pitch that is rented out. its free or not accessable because the pitch belongs to a footie club or something.
public grounds are provided on first come first serve basis.

there are a lot of parks but they have no propper goals, most pitches belong to a school, association, club and are closed and no acces is permitted for 5-a-side if you arent a member.

some areas have difficulties with the residents as the sun/anyday-be-the-heck-quiet-rule spoils the easy kick.

with indoor pitches its even worse. the waitinglist is long, the pitches are very limited in numbers. you need to call the schools in spring for "a maybe in autumn". but to my surprise it is very cheap to rent a pitch once you have the chance. best is to have somebody speaking swiss german to organise that as for some reason it seemed to be a lot harder if your an expat calling up all these schools, janitors, etc.

btw: i find it is the best business one can set up in CH/ZH once you have found a propper place, to offer a hall with 5a-side-pitches. its a no-brainer as there is so much demand of pitches and no resources to meet them...

in the papers was just an update of the plan to build/rebuild 15 pitches. the city/canton is nowhere near it and it was read that 440sqm of ground is needed to build one. and that is rare in Zh and rather used for commercial stuff, estates etc obviously... a superb fullsize pitch is located dubsstrasse/zurlindenstrasse. decent grass, well maintained. goals can be moved according to your fitness ;-)
