Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

1-0 RF down 1 set.
2-1 Djokovic down 1 set...

What's going on today?

Must be the rain and low pressure.

1 hour later.....: Luckily ORDER is restored, both cleared.

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Gracious Lord! Credit to both players. Novak managed to defend 5 match points in the 4th set. Tsonga played enormously tough match and he cannot say that he lost it just Djokovic found athletic strength to win it Kudos to both competitors! What an epic challenge it was!

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Nadal or Ferrer it is a question of the day?

Two compatriots look a bit stiff and apprehended against each other in opening set. Tough to play against your countryman me guess. Hope the mental discomfort caused by that will be gone away soon as the game evolves Rafa will hit more longer shots instead of those nervous short forehands and backhands.

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Edit: Now after tension has eased, Nadal seems to be in command of the game. Superb performance unveils... But damn they suspended the game because of rain... Let's pray to sun gods so that the clouds disperse and sun will come out again.

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Did you see that point in which Rafa slips and lands on his arse and still manages to win the point?

LOL: John Inverdale of ITV4 commented: Ferrer should realize that something must go really wrong with his game since Nadal even beats him sitting on his butt

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Hey, I once did this on FB, point by point narration....don't do it.

Rain has stopped, play resumes. I think Nadal will win...already 5-1 in second set.
I just came back losing 6-3, 6-3 to my colleague who plays "once in a blue moon". So....I am getting nervous.

Ja ja...he is the fitter one of the 2.
I almost want to watch Nadal dismantle him.....but I got a hot date on Sunday.
I was almost glad I did not have to choose...

Cheers.

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

Djokavic will win the Final. I would prefer Nadal, but Djokavic is the stronger player, both mentally and physically - Nadal freaks out when Djokavic is ahead, which obviously doesn't increase the Spaniard's chances of winning.

As much as I'm fan of Djokovic but this is Nadal's tournament. He knows that and he will play his best to win it again. Djoker is mentally tough but Rafa is complete clay court player and has important weapon on clay which is topspin. Both are great defensive players but if I had to bet I would put my money on Rafa all the way.

Re: French Open 2012 (tennis)

The current No.1 is just that, No.1 in ranking points. Nothing else.

The King of Clay is something else. He is known as the Matador, etc
The GOAT is also something else. How many Grand Slams?

It will take more than ranking points to "like" the current No.1.
It does not really help to keep seeing his smirky smiles.

This is my personal opinion.

I'd prefer Rafa to win.
