Zurichsee cleanliness?

I've recently been swimming in the Zurichsee in the seefeld area and noticed that the lake seems to be full, of hard to describe, slightly fluffy blobs....

I picked a bit out, it had the consistency of very thin fluff or fur.... but it is all over the place, all the way to the 50m i swam out.

Has anyone else noticed this or knows what is is? Im pretty certain it is not actually animal fur because it is so widespread.

Bird down? I can imagine the swans, ducks, etc are preparing to get their winter coats.

Re: Zurichsee cleanliness?

It is normally at its cleanest the am after street parade.

In fact, sometimes the Zurichsee has a waterfall under the burkliplatz to bellevue bridge during street parade.

As for the blobs, no idea.
