Volleyball in Zürich.

Hello.
I am searching for a club or association that offers Volleyball courts for people that would like to play it for fun (or even more).
I checked Volero and other clubs but most of them have profi teams who use their courts for their profi training.
I used to play Volleyball few years ago but I didn't have the chance yet to play it here.
I wonder if someone knows something and if there is another Volleyball lover who would like to go to a club together.

I think there's some places listed in this basketball thread or some EFers from this thread you could contact to find places... I'm sure a basketball court could be repurposed for volleyball, no?

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

You may not believe this, but I am a very skilled volleyball player (and coach) for many years.
I stopped playing because I stopped growing at 16 years old.

If the conditions are right, I am be induced to join you for a friendly game.

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Did anyone find anything interesting? My husband and I are (or were) avid volleyball players and have played a few times at Letten (but always crowded and very hard to get in a game). We purchased our own grass net to set up at the park but have a hard time finding competitive players to join us. If you are interested we could try to set a day during a nice weekend and set up at the park Zurihorn (once the weather warms up?) Alternatively we can rent a beach court at Bad Allemoos to play some coed doubles this summer if anyone is interested?

Lets keep in touch if you are interested!

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

I play on a team and we are looking for some new players!! Its a local volleyball club (close to the Zurich airport) and we practice on Friday nights from 20:00-22:00. Practices are a lot of fun and somewhat competitive.
Send a pm if interested and I will give you the details.

Otherwise if you speak German this website is full of info on the various teams (Womens, Mens and Mixed) around the Zurich area.

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Hi all,

I've just finished the move to Zurich a few days ago and am keen to get involved with some volleyball over here! I'm in Wallisellen so Gumby's mention of something near the airport would be perfect.

I can't see anything on that site though (svrz.ch) about teams and such.

Any info you could provide would be great!

P.S apologies for reviving an old thread but it is the most recent one on EF on the volleyball topic!

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Sooo I am still interested in finding a volleyball team or a court where I can play. I talked to some people a while ago but nothing materialised yet. So I am still open to suggestions.

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Where do you live? I found many indoor clubs in the glattbrugg area and now train and play with Dübendorf. In summer I played in Volketswil at some beach courts there, but from the centre of the city it's a bit far. I'm in Wallisellen so the distance is good for me.

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Hello ladies,

I am coaching a team on Mondays (near the airport) but it is full of beginners. Age range is from 18-50. We would welcome an experienced player as we need all the help we can get (we are in last place in our league). Send me a pm and I will give you the details.

I also want to get an expat team together to play in the various tournaments around Zurich. We have currently two players on our team . The tournaments run throughout the year and are at various skill levels but we need to sign up for them around 6 weeks in advance. If we could get some other committed players I think it would be fun. The games take place on the weekends and usually last the whole day. PM if interested and I can get a list going!!

I live close to Triemlispital, close to Uetliberg. Where exactly in Dübendorf? Days and times? The level of the team?

Re: Volleyball in Zürich.

Also raising hand... moved to Wallisellen from Bern in April and was not able to find a club so far (mostly because of traveling during the week).
Last 3 years played in Bern in 2nd and 1st league.
So if its possible to play somewhere at weekends - i would be glad to join.
