Nice one.
This week is the last week for registration as the league kicks off in two weeks.

Where to play soccer once a week in Basel?

Hello guys

I'm looking for a amateur soccer club witch will not take many time, like playing once a week on Saturdays or Sundays morning for example.

I don't know many people here and is my intention to meet more people, develop my German and have some fun

Re: Where to play soccer once a week in Basel?

Hey! I am in Basel too and looking for the same! I have browsed the web and Facebook but I found nothing useful. I also searched in the forum but found only old threads.

I wonder how do people here manage to join a team hehe

Let me know if you find anything!

Juanes!

Re: Where to play soccer once a week in Basel?

Hello!
I went to see some football fields in St Jakob place. I talked to the man there and, as far as I could understand, he said that the court 6vs6 is free of charge but it is necessary to reserve some days in advance.
For the court 11vs11 it is not free and necessary to reserve in advance; locker room and showers are included in the price.
If we can collect some people we could really think to start to train like regularly. Anyone who is interested please PM so that I can set something up.

Thanks!

Re: Where to play soccer once a week in Basel?

Does anyone know what the current status of expat football in Basel is? There are several old posts, but I haven't found anything saying that there is a team currently looking for new players. I'd love to find some people to play with, on a team or just pickup.

I PMed mikaelo about his football thread, but haven't heard back. Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi

Just go to the big park just bellow St Jakob, you will find several football fields there, with many teams, maybe you can join one of them?

Re: Football in Basel

I moved to Basel in August and haven't found a team yet, despite looking pretty hard. It seems impossible that there aren't several expat teams in Basel, given the number of foreigners. Makes me wonder if Norvartis, and the like, have their own leagues where most of the English speakers play.

Let me know if you find anything.

Cheers,
jared

NVS has 6 teams playing in leagues with teams from other companies, but you need to be an employee and subscribe the novartis sport club.
You would have to enroll in july-august if you want to be part of one of them, level is quite good, not for casual players.
