Yes and my thyroid is going up and down. I reduce the meds a bit and she gave me a model of things to to avoid anything transforming into sugar.

I will prepare a bunch of cutter veggies in a topper ware (carrots, celery, coli flower and broccoli)

The only problem is I feel bored to eat them plain without a dip....

I'll look into it.
Add a pinch of fleur de sel. Yeah it may be boring without the sauces, but, well...

Well excuse me for reading the info as she presented it. Do you talk to her in pm before about whether she was just trying to lose weight, or in relation to a program involving diabetes?
She remembers my thread about pre-diabetes.

I remembered it too, but you didn't say that today. You said you were on the first day of a diet. Good luck all the same.

It's true, I didn't mentioned it.

Thanks

Re: I simpy can't lose weight ? :-S any advice ??

There are many great posts by Motor and Elgg, so thanks to both for time given to explaining.

I want to add a few points to some already mentioned.

Having great health and fitness is about hard work, discipline, and also consistency. Your body reflects what you consume and how you train every day. Cheat meals and cheat days are a fallacy, and create a destructive behavioural pattern that body and health discipline are bad and cheating them is good. Make great food, drink and exercise choices every day and your skin, hair, eyes, body tone, and psychological health are improved.

Skinny is not something to aspire to. Desire to be healthy and strong, with a body that reflects all your hard word every day.

There is a phenomenon of skinny fat people, who fixate on achieving the number on the scales, but not on making great food, drink and exercise choices, so they achieve their number, but that's all. The condition of their bodies and health are poor.

Training should be exhausting. This is different from it being hard. I watch many people stop or avoid the hard parts of their training programme, thinking they are benefitting from the rest of their exercising, so they reason that the avoidance is ok. They are also the people who skip training sessions, or shorten the time spent because they prioritise something else. Then they wonder why they don't have the body they expect.

I'm an advocate of doing a varied fitness programme, because you get fit in so many different ways, and you learn a variety of skills and how to achieve goals that test you in different ways.

I used to find them boring, when I ate them now-and-again, so had to prepare them each time. Since I've committed to eating raw carrots 3 or 4 times a day, and prepare enough on 1 occasion to last the whole week, I find them easy to eat. Acceptance is important, if you want to be healthy.

The reality of making great health and fitness choices consistently, is some things you will love more an others, but all help you.

nil, can you try to make a juice with something other than just carrots in it- carrots and apples with ginger or mix it up a bit? that may make it more exciting. if you feel hungry try drinking more water, or, i have heard water with something in it- some say apple cider vinegar in it () but i put in mint leaves and lime slices because i have to drink more water but i don't like it unless there is something added.

when you are hungry do something- like quitting smoking- exercise, go for a walk, meditate, have sex. whatever to get your mind off of eating

and go luck- it'll get easier, it's just the beginning that is tough

If I have sex, I am nothing but hungry afterwards, and for strange stuff too. Like Smoked Oysters, Sardines in Tomato Sauce, Ben and Jerry's Cooke Dough, those are the go to's anyways.

My weight trainer advisor, self appointed apparently, always suggests exercising to get your mind free. And it works. It wakes you up, and you certainly don't feel like eating, atleast I don't. I do have to admit after the first time I went jogging, in like 2 decades as well, I absently mindedly sat down, filled up a half glass of Paddy's and started to suck it down like it was water.

Felt good, but deflates the reason I ran up a 700meter mountain.

Why do people want to smoke after sex? I never figured that out.

Re: I simpy can't lose weight ? :-S any advice ??

Today is THE day.

I start the full diet all day long until I meet my doc in 1 1/2 month.
Later on, I will share the diet she gave me so maybe I can get some ideas of food before it gets boring.

Just a thought but you can probably eat them in a more interesting way than just raw...

There was a documentary on BBC ages ago (I think I already mentioned it elsewhere on the forum) where they found that if you cook vegetables it releases more of the nutrition, especially if you mix it with a small amount of fat (obviously you don't boil them beyond recognition then thrown in half a pat of butter).

It was something to do with the cell walls of the carotenoids being tough and the body finding it easier to release them when they have been broken down slightly by the cooking process.

Potatoes were particularly interesting (not that anyone really eats them raw, but they gave almost no nutritional value unless they are cooked).

Maybe you could eat a mix of raw and cooked to get the balance (and enjoyment) right?

Back on topic,

I find this very hard.... Especially in the evening, I crave sugar. During the day, it isn't that bad but at the end of the day of no sweets..... Arrrrrg!

Perhaps

But 33 mins is genuinely fast. As in proper fast. As in part of an international squad fast.

It could well be that both posters aren't exactly telling the whole truth
