Arnold Schwarzenegger: Steak....... | | | | | Yeah, well, it's not really contradictory. Lots of people spend most of their life staying away from their favorite food. Pitiful buggers. | This user would like to thank curley for this useful post: | |

Would the LCHF be similar to the Keto diet ?

Same with weight loss. If you don't lose weight, you are either doing something wrong or you are cheating. | | | | | A lot of people do something wrong - namely they don't make it a lifestyle change. It's this fad diet or exercise plan, gain it back, that fad diet or MLM, gain it back, etc. The diet industry likes it that way.
It's not necessarily "hard" to lose weight for most people. It's hard to maintain any weight loss over time if a person doesn't change habits for the long term. | Quote: | | | | | Or ill or injured or both. | | | | | That too.

If you really want to be as slim as before, you could still do it though. It takes some effort but it's not difficult. Imagine my delight when I fit back into my wedding cheongsam. | | | | | I'm really glad it worked out so well for you, argus! Yes, absolutely, I think you're right. I need a bit more will power though....
Btw, looking back at this discussion I saw Nil's posts and remembered the times when this forum had a sliightly different demographic ....nice to have you back!

Would the LCHF be similar to the Keto diet ? | | | | | Yes, just less stringent. I was in ketosis for 2 or 3 weeks - it was interesting as I felt so alert and energetic. I made a version of the keto muffin to replace bread for breakfast. (Recipe can be found online.)
The best thing is that going on LCHF for a few months helped correct my blood sugar swings. Even after I stopped, eating a slice of bread (and other things) for breakfast didn't result in my feeling desperate hunger pangs by noon or 1pm. It used to be so bad, a couple of times I burst into tears when I couldn't get hold of something to eat in time.

| | Re: I simpy can't lose weight ? :-S any advice ?? | Quote: | | | | | Tons of threads on this - do a search. But there is absolutely no shame in trying to lose weight and become a stronger, fitter person.
My advice:
Do resistance training: lift heavy stuff, if you aren't doing it already. Also, do interval training. LSD (long slow distance) training is also effective, but you get better bang for your buck with the first two, at least in my experience.
Track everything you eat - everything - and do not cheat. Track it all. And then take a look at what you have been eating if you still fail to lose weight. Usually, with people who fail to lose weight, the loss of discipline (all the little "snacks") and failure to be honest with themselves is the biggest problem.
Good luck. | | | | | Exactly!
And don’t do no-fat. This is the worst you can do.
No sugar/carbs works best.
