| | Re: I simpy can't lose weight ? :-S any advice ??
Well, I have been always said that my bones were too wide or that my metabolism was too bad, and therefore I've been 70 kg and 170 cm for last 10 years... NOW, I am 56 kg! And my 14 kg don't come back even after almost one year! I live happily, nearly never feeling hunger! my friends suggest me to become a model hahaha ))
How did it happen?
at some point, for some reasons, I started doing these simple things in order to become thinner:
1) eat 6-7 times per day (it can be either warm or salad or an apple); the last time I eat is 17.00. Yes, I take my dinner to my work, and almast every day I cook for the next day. Meanwhile, I go to bed at 23.00.
2) NO sparkling water! If cola - only Cola zero - and no more often than twice a month. NO beer, of course. well, try to reduce, in general, your consume of alcohol.
3) count the calories! Each product you buy now has written smth like: 20 kKal/Scheibe You need to eat 1000 - 1200 kKal a day. if less - you will have a headache, more - you will not lose anything. In this way, you can even eat Spaghetti Bolognese. Small portion, of course.
4) Water from the tap. 2 l a day. 10-30 min. before you start eating, drink a glass of water.
5) Don't resist eating sweets. Just take less of them.
6) Coffee makes your metabolism become faster!
7) Try to have always apples with you. Once you feel hunger - take one.
And remember. Whenever you feel like you want to eat something, eat it! Chacolatze, bread, tiramisů etc. - it's totally fine! Just don't eat much of it!
Now, everybody will scream that dieting is not good... true, of course, but I am used to such eating habits and I like them. I dislike the feeling that I am "very much" fed up, this makes me sleepy and tired. As for sports - I don#t do exhausting sports, only hiking once per week and go by bike to my work (10 km a day, but not every season).

Surely thats undereating? While i think going below 2000 calories is not such a bad thing (If your eating right) I think going as low as 1000 would make it difficult to maintain a balanced diet?
And if you exercise... You can easily burn 500 calories with a 40 minute run...
I like some of your other points... but i disagree with this one...

I have not long started this method and I find it works for me, which is why I shared the experience, it may work for others.
For those before me who say it is not rocket science that you must eat less move more, this is not always the case ( and I know many ealrier posts disagree)
I still do not move so much, as in any sport or extra keep fit, I do the normal daily things most of us do, work, shops, housework, children etc but nothing extra since starting this way of eating and my weight is shifting, no doubt it would do faster if I did extra exercise but right now that is not an option.
So to me this proves that sometimes being overweight does not simply imply you over eat and dont exercise enough, there can be other factors, for those who dont agree that fine, but maybe some one out there who cant exercise too much for some reason or who has tried and failed and cannot understand why, can try this route or go any talk to someone about your eating habits and or lifestyle, sometimes you cant see the wood for the trees if you like

also, if you have problems dealing with sweets, find videos on youtube - subliminal affirmations or self-hypnosis - to deal with it. Some of them are very good. I kicked a chocolate habit within a week of starting to watch one and lost 10 kg. | | | | | You lost 10 kg in a week just giving up chocolate?? |

I like some of your other points... but i disagree with this one... | | | | | 1200 calories per day brings you into starvation mode. If you're morbidly obese you can survive like that for a few months while your body uses up your lean mass muscle and some fat to keep going.
For the rest of the population, you'll burn your muscles, slow your metabolism dramatically down, risk exhaustion, etc.
Keeping to 1600-1700 calories per day with some exercise is much healthier, and also more likely to avoid the dreaded yoyo effect.

You need to throttle your diet. You should have certain days when you can eat what you want. It will help you stick with it, and something to keep your mind on when your willpower is challenged. Otherwise, your body will adapt its metabolism to your diet and only lower your energy level, while eating up your muscles and depleting much needed nutrients.

Well, of course, it depends on what you are working on. A daily norm is 2000 kKal (to keep your weight kind of constant). Well-known fact that if you work in an office, i.e. have a "sitting-job" (as I do), then you need only 1500 kKal per day in order to have constant weight. But if you want to decrease it, then you should eat a bit less then.
Example of my daily ration:
1) breakfast, 07.15 - Brötchen - 120 kKal + Butter & Cheese/Marmelade (2 slices, 35 kKal each) = 200 - 250 kKal.
2) 2nd breakfast, 11.00 - Apple & youghurt = 200 kKal
3) lunch, 12.30 - a small plate of spaghetti (pesto or Bolognese) = 250 - 300 kKal
4) afterlunch coffee and chocolate, 14.00 (20-30 g.) - 120 - 150 kKal
5) meanwhile, apple and some other fruits ...
6) dinner, 17.00 or 18.00 - bread with something - 200 kKal
7) evening tea with milk and some small sweat, 20.00 - 50 kKal
Suming up, we get: 250 +200 + 300 + 150 + 200 +50 = 1150 kkal
Believe me, it is more than enough to keep you fit! =)))
Don't know where you got the numbers like 2300 kKal per day...this is a norm for sportsmen! But if you don't do much sports, but just go by bike or do jogging in the evening, your body doesn't need a lot of food!
And remember a very important Russian proverb: "have a lunch as a prince and have a dinner as a poor guy"!
if you have any further questions, just contact me. Believe me, this works. Moreover, the weight will not come back! Just make this to become your daily habit to eat!

To lose weight you have to know calories you need and reduice it 500 kcal a day.
Example my energie need is 2000 kcal a day. To lose weight i need to eat ca 1500 kcal a day. If you dont eat enough, you dont lose nothing because your body thinks its starving time and keeps everything for itself |

Yes, Killukalli, you are definitely right! Well, for myself, I just took an average value. But, however, it is very individual... that's why there are so many people that can eat an entire elephant and stay incredibly thin nevertheless... whereas some others after one-week-vacation get easily become 2-3 kgs more...

Honestly, if you're 170cm and 56kg and had to work hard to get there (i.e. you're not naturally so thin) then you don't weigh enough. I don't know what your build is like. Maybe if you have a tiny frame then I can accept it's ok. However, I'm 173cm and weigh about 69kg and I'm perfectly healthy. I would say I mantain this eating around 2000 calories a day (although I don't count - some days I eat more, some days less) and doing regular exercise around 3 times a week. If I wanted to lose weight, I would maybe reduce the calories by a couple of hundred a day but I wouldn't want to lose more than 5kg. Your mentality sounds unhealthy, like a product of a society that expects women to be sticks. I am a solid, healthy woman and I'm happy with that.

You may feel fine for a week, month or even a year but eventually your body will lack of everything important.
Have you ever heard of protein? Have you ever heard of vegetables too?
Apart from a small amount of protein I see only carbohydrates in your diet and primarily the fast ones in pasta, fruit, bread, chocolate etc.
BTW: are you a mouse? A hamster maybe.....? A bird?

Why? Because most 'well-known facts' quoted are neither well-known nor facts. It's simply a way of trying to persuade a listener/reader that they shouldn't challenge that bit. Often has the reverse affect in practice.

Your lunch is 75g - That is you eating like a Prince!!!
For your approximate needs use a BMR calculator and then multiply by the Harris Benedict ration Metric BMR Formula Tarts: BMR = 655 + ( 9.6 x weight in kilos ) + ( 1.8 x height in cm ) - ( 4.7 x age in years ) Vicars: BMR = 66 + ( 13.7 x weight in kilos ) + ( 5 x height in cm ) - ( 6.8 x age in years ) Harris Benedict Formula
To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows: - If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
- If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
- If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
- If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
- If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9
