Squash in Geneva

We were members in a squash club in Luxembourg where most people were english speaking and we felt as we fit in. We really miss that here! Is there some nice squash place in Geneva with ex-pats and a nice bar?

Re: Squash in Geneva

i live in Baden (AG) and go to a squashclub in Niederrohrdorf for their weekly squash evening, so i don't need to bring my own partner. I go to know that club through www.squash.ch , maybe you can find something useful there too.

Re: Squash in Geneva

I had to search around a bit until i found this club in cologny. http://www.cs-cologny.ch/index.php

It's not cheap, but it is really nice. Non-member can hire a court, but it's pretty pricey at 32 CHF a pop. However, if you become a member then you can play as much as you like with no additional charge.

It's not exclusively ex-pat, as there are many many french speakers there, but everyone i have met has been very friendly and they have a club, kind of turn up and play and meet people night on a weds (although not running throughout the summer).

There is another club up near the airport which was just a bit too tough for me to get too. See here http://www.geneva-squash.com/index.php but looks friendly too.

Re: Squash in Geneva

Hi.. i am somewhere between an advance beginner and an intermediate, play regularly at least once a week.. :-)

getting to cologny club: Bus 1,9 ("Clos du Molan" bus stop, 10 minutes from 'Rive'). Since I am a member, my guest pays a concessional rate to play. Let me know if you are up for a game next Mon/Tue/Wed? Cheers!

Re: Squash in Geneva

Hi Everyone!

Im a very keen intermediate player moving to Geneva in late August. I have been playing in Vienna with the UN squash club and hope to find a fun bunch of squash fans to join for a game once or twice a week.

Hope there are a few players in Geneva looking for a game.

See you soon on the court.

Cheers

Re: Squash in Geneva

To see a list of squash clubs in Romandie go to http://squashromandie.ch/club.

Most clubs have open training 1 to 2 times a week, where you can play against everyone from the respected club. It is a great way to find players that match your own level.

Contact the club representative in advance, if you are not a member, and you will normally be allowed to show a couple of times for free to these training sessions.

I play at Cologny, which is highly recommendable both due to the quality of the facilities and sweet/skillfull players there. See more http://www.cs-cologny.ch/squash/
