Pond hockey

Hello,
Would anyone be up for playing a little pond ice hockey sometime near Zurich? I am going for a skate today at this place: http://www.doldersports.ch/en/20/kunsteisbahn.aspx, I would love to skate with anyone who would be for it in the future. Let me know!

Cheers,
Mike

You are aware though, that isn't a pond, right?

Yes, it's just a general term for out door hockey that does not require pads, just a stick and puck. But if you have any ideas on where there is actually a pond to skate on let me know!

Wouldn't the term be shirts v skins? Anyways, I do know of a place or two...must think of the actual names though. I am interested, when are you thinking of doing this?

I was going to go today, but it started to rain, I am up for it anytime. I grew up playing ice-hockey and love it. Let me know if you ever want to go for a skate.

Re: Pond hockey

Not close to Zurich, but if you fancy real pond (lake) skating, the Lac des Taillères, near La Brévine, above Neuchatel is the place to go. Will announce when and if it is ready for some serious fun.

Google Lac des Taillères patinage
for lots of photos. When conditions are good, there is skate hire, vin chaud, hot bratwurst, chips and hot chestnuts for sale too.
Some people skate with a sail, impromptu ice hockey-matches get going, etc.

When I was a kid, my dad would dirve his car on the lake, tie brother and me on sledges to the back, go whizzing at full pelt and make hand-break turns- Great fun, bus sadely no longer allowed (I wonder why??? Yes, my dad was nuts- last time we skated there together, he was 91).

Great thank you I would love that. I am originally from California, so I have really never had the chance to skate on a natural pond, it's been one of things I have always wanted to do. Please let me know when it opens, feel free to send me a private message, or shoot me an email at mikemanelski@gmail.com
