Day ski near Lausanne

Hey everyone. I'm staying in Lausanne for six months and I was wondering if there's any good day-ski places near there. I've looked around at a few websites but they're all so confusing . I'm hoping on finding somewhere where I can purchase the ski pass, lift pass and equipment hire all in one place. Please help!!

Verbier - best option if you don't own a car!

Re: Day ski near Lausanne

Morgins, in the Portes du Soleil, is really easy from Lausanne. You take the train to Aigle, transfer to the smaller train to Troistorrents and then take the bus to Morgins. Going home is the reverse. Check the SBB website for times.

The bus in Morgins drops you off, literally, at a ski rental place. If you look directly across the street, you will see the chair lift and the ski pass purchase kiosk. Complete no-brainer.

We have had a ton of snow here in the Portes du Soleil this week and the conditions are excellent. Have fun!

Re: Day ski near Lausanne

Even easier, take the train to Aigle, then the bus via Vionnaz to Torgon, which then links up to Chapelle d'Abondance, and Tour de Don and on to Châtel and super Châtel, and down to Morgins- and then on ...

Torgon has an excellent English speaking ski and snowboarding school and beginners area, with restaurant next to the baby slope too.

Had an excellent day there (drove up to Plan de Croix, just before Torgon) with huge car park and restaurant- plenty of snow and excellent conditions- although a couple of slopes a bit in the afternoon. Thanks BMXgirl and friend for company.

If you want to stay for a few days in an English speaking environment, with lots of British, OZ and NZ staff- have a look at

www.skicompany.net
A great company who can organise everything for you on spot and right next to the slope, ski or snowboard hire, lessons, accom, meals, ski pass, etc. Highly recommended.
