Aerial silks

Hello forum,

is anyone familiar with aerial trapeze and those people that fly in the air on pieces of silk and know where to learn this in the Basel region? There seems to be some workshops here and there, but I have not found anything regular.
i know it's strange! It looks so fun!

Thanks,
c

Re: Aerial silks

You could look here and see if you can find anything near you.

http://www.fsec.ch/web/index.php

It may look fun, but remember that it will also take a lot of hard work and dedication to make it look that easy to do. Also remember it's dangerous!

Re: Aerial silks

Have you considered doing the more traditional acrobatics stuff like Trampolin etc.? The rings in particular can do an impression of trapeze I would say, and must be easier to find.

Are you in the University by any chance?

Re: Aerial silks

Hi...@Fleecestealer: thank you! interesting link for sure, but this looks like a site for circus acts that already know how to do these things. Not quite sure, but I don't see anything about classes.

@BaselPT: I am really just interested in aerial for the dance and flowy aspect, not gymnastics and springy part. Thank you as well.

Nice to have the feedback, will keep searching.

Re: Aerial silks

No, it's not. There's a whole list of circus schools on the site here:

http://www.fsec.ch/web/index.php?opt...mid=39&lang=fr

If it's just the dance side though, I'd have thought you'd be needing to look for a dance school, not a circus skills one.

Good luck.

Re: Aerial silks

I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. With the rings you don't need to do "Olympic style" (where the rings stay mostly vertical and the strong dudes do mostly slow, feats of strength). You can grab them and swing while doing positions. It can certainly flow.

Anyway good luck finding what you are looking for.
