| | Expat football team in Lausanne or Morges
Hi,
I am new to this forum and would like to know if there exists, or if there is any interest in setting up, an expat football team in the Lausanne-Morges area.
I used to live in Geneva, where the football teams are a bit more established among the diplomatic missions. I recently played for the Geneva Irish when we lost to the Geneva Scots 2-1. I know that those 2 teams would be keen to get more friendly practice in against other teams with a similar level (if you can call a group of 25-50 year olds panting in the sun chasing a ball before collapsing in a heap a "level").
This would involve getting together somewhat regularly for training and socialising afterwards. This would also be dependant on finding a suitable location to play (easier in the summer than in the winter). Let me know if you're interested or if you know of a group already playing.
For those of you playing in expat teams in other parts of Switzerland, get in touch and we could possibly organise a weekend tournament somewhere.
Cheers
Andrew

Hi,
I've just moved to Geneva from London and have been searching forums for football teams. I'm working in geneva but living in Nyon. I noticed your post is a year or so old. Did you ever get anything sorted out?
If anyone else is reading this and knows of a team or can help at all i'd be really grateful.
cheers,
Matt

I'm not sure if anything ever got off the ground. We were looking at setting up a Gaelic team in Lausanne too, but it never really took off (probably my fault, as I've been traveling a lot for work this summer). But if you're willing to drive it, then you should not have any difficulty in getting a few players...

I live in Lausanne and would love to play, football, Gaelic, hurling, tennis...more or less anything in fact so if anyone does find/set up a team or even a kickaround I'd be interested.
Oh and there is a grand pitch with nice goals in the parc de milan (just below the train station)

I know this has been falling flat for years now but seriously, ther must be enough people to have a kickaround at least. Spring is coming and I live near Parc du Milan, there are grand pitches with goals sitting there. So its free, really central, 2 mins from Train Station and has good facilities.
Can we not muster 12 or 14 people to have at least a 6/7 aside game once a week? I'll even be the loser who takes everyones emails and tries to find a suitable time for everyone.

Hi all,
Have to admit this doesn't look like the most successful thread ever created on the forum, but lets try again!
Through the another website we've been trying to arrange 5 aside football in Lausanne for one evening each week.
Unfortuantly there really doesn't seem to be much any availability of sports hall or gyms for hire during the week between 19.00-21.00 or 20.00-22.00.
So if anyones up for playing let me know, we currently have about 12 players signed up, also if anyone has got any ideas of venues in Lausanne available mid week, preferably inside all ideas are welcome!

Hi,
Recently got a job in Geneva which I start in January. And what's the first thing I do? Look for a local footy team. This long chain of messages don't look very promising but if anyone knows of any weekly footy going on in Geneva, full teams or 6 a side, let me know!
Cheers
Adam

Hey Andrew
I have recently moved to Switzerland and am working in Geneva and living in Nyon.
I would like to put my name down for a bit of football, let me know when you are training and I will come down for a kick about.
Have a good weekend
