Protein Takeaways?

Does anyone know of a takeaway in Zurich that focuses on low-carb, low-fat, high-protein foods?

There were a few in London near my office (think salad, boiled eggs and chicken breast, kale smoothies, tuna & boiled egg, grilled chicken breast sans-oil, protein-powder cookies, etc) - but can't seem to find anything in zurich that does fresh stuff... only the usual packaged gym bars and powders.

M.

Re: Protein Takeaways?

Co-op has plenty of salads with chicken/tuna and/or eggs. However my post-gym food is grilled turkey breast with lettuce/tomatoes and a tub of cottage cheese (all bought from Denner). Pretty cheap and only takes 20 minutes to make at home while tasting 10x better than any shop-bought stuff.

Some friends of mine have just started a delivery service in ZH offering exactly this...

Massgekocht.ch

I've never tried it but have heard from other friends that it is pretty good, and the photos are certainly enticing. If you do try it, be sure to report back!

That actually looks pretty good, price wise as well... only challenge is the site is only in German (and as my luck has it, I speak Italian/French... but not German. Will give google translate a try at some point)

Wow, 20chf for an after-session meal would get expensive very quickly...

Re: Protein Takeaways?

I saw a youtube video where they checked the calories of convenience-food (claimed vs. actual).

All were way over - except Subway. They were spot on.

Re: Protein Takeaways?

There's a shop called something like Be Good that has locations at Oerlikon and Niederhof, they do high-quality burgers and kale-quinoa bowls. Good stuff, typical Zurich prices.
