Basketball in zurich

Hi guys!

It's been 2 years since I last played basketball and would like to shoot some hoops again. I am free on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Any indoor basketball gym would be nice.

Let me know if you know a place and are interested.

Some information:

I'm short: 5'6
Years playing basketball: more than 10
Last Played: 2 years ago
Prefer 3-3 for now since it's been a while

Thanks guys

Hey guys, now it's the "summer" season and you can play everyday on open court on Roslistrasse. Lot of people playing over there , especially on weekend.

Re: Basketball in zurich

Hi guys,
I am a bit rusted as I have not played basketball since I moved to Zurich 6 year ago but I would love to start playing again, preferably outside. I have never been to the court at Roslistrasse. If it is for "profis" then most probably I am out of shape but I could give it a try. I live at DietLikon where there is a school with quite good basketball courts outside. Anyone up for playing this Saturday? At Roslistrasse, Dietlikon or wherever else.

Let's do an event. I'm as rusty as grandpa rocking on a porch and could use some movement.

Re: Basketball in zurich

sounds good! I think we are already 3 or 4. I am new user in EnglishForum. Any way to share mobile numbers via private message? We could then create a whatsapp group and arrange a day to play. Fine with all? And with "all" I mean the 2-3 persons being in this thread

You could also post it in the social events calendar, it would increase the chance that other people may see it.

Re: Basketball in zurich

I had no clue there is an events calendar. Great idea! Thanks! Shall I create an event for Friday 7/7 at 6pm? It's getting dark late so we will have enough time. About the the place...I have no idea. Roslistrasse is in the city center but I have never been there. Dietlikon might be far for some(except if it is about IKEA ). What you think?

Sounds good for me. If we can get a decent squad going, we could also participate in some annual streetball tournaments.
LiB's suggestion for a team name: Rolling Rollators

In case you don't know what a rollator is, here's a pic :

Nice! Grandpa team gets real! Cool! Make some space in your calendar for Friday 7/7 at 6pm. I will also create an event even though I believe that there will be more in Roslistrasse. I'll go by to check the place.
Anyone has a basketball? I have one which is actually a gift from a hair product (don't ask me why a hair product gives basketballs as gifts ) Anyway, it's just okish.

I tried to create the event but it seems that I do not have permissions to do so. Anyway! Let's get the ball rolling and arrange to meet. If basketball does not work out then we can still have a beer (that sporty!). So, 7/7 at 6pm under the angel in HB? Sounds good? Who would like to join?

Re: Basketball in zurich

Hi everyone!

I'm also interested in joining you guys for informal basketball games. I've just found this thread and unfortunately I'm already busy this Friday (07/07), however, I'll like to join next time. Count on me for further events!

Cheers

Re: Basketball in zurich

Cool! No worries, we are going to post here when we will meet next time. If something change in the meantime and you can join tomorrow then either come at 6pm at zurich hb under the hanging angel or join us directly at the courts at rosslistrasse.

I am also not here for this weekend but maybe would be better to get a way to keep in contact directly smth like a wa group no?

Anyhow, under my appartment in Oerlikon there is a really nice basketball court, mostly free maybe it can be a good meeting point.
