Fitness/Wellness Gutschein/Voucher only valid for one year.

My work place gifted all of us for Christmas/Dec 2016 a voucher to go towards an activity (non specific) in a specfic Wellness/spa business/place? What does one call it?

I thought it was a great idea and fully intended to make use of it, only, I'm a chronic procratinator and put it on the back shelf without looking into it very deeply.
I just dug it up again only to now realise it was only valid for one year from the date of purchase.

My question is, is it really allowed that a voucher that has been paid for has such a short time limit?

Just wondering.

Yes. Not only allowed, but quite a common practice. The accounting of the company issuing the voucher will have to draw a line somewhere, and has specified that limit.

I feel for you though, as it would have been a nice treat.

Well, they just got a nice bonus then, stinky how that works, other businesses will allow that one can still redeem a voucher even after a certain amount of time.
You know what, I'm going to push it even though it probably isn't in the gesetstz (sp)
I don't think it^s quite right that they can just take money like that, will report back how I get on.
