I've been browsing the options for sailing around Zurich in earlier posts (I'm a new transplant), but have some more specific questions.

1) Are there any clubs that have dinghy storage space that you can get access to as a privilege of being a member? More specifically, I'm looking to get out on Lasers (or similar), ideally find a group that races regularly and competitively. This is as opposed to getting on the waitlist to rent a spot from the city/canton. I used to live in Vaud/Geneva, and there were plenty of clubs that had their own private area, just don't know equivalents in Zurich.

2) Any suggestions for getting on a keelboat as crew? As I'm new to the area, I don't know anyone in the sailing scene here, but hoping to get out, ideally on a competitive boat. If anyone has any suggestions, I have experience with being #1, #2, and with genoa and spi trim. Open to anything.

I did see the meetup where people sail regularly, but if I can be frank seems the guy has just found a way to get other people to pay for him to sail, which is not interesting to me...

I was just about to post a related question but curious if you've had any luck with sailing clubs around Zurich lake?

I'm especially looking for club to join where I can rent Lasers, do courses and join racing events.

Even though I am not into sailing, the club in Thalwil would be a good one - https://www.svt.ch/index.php?tab=home. I know a couple of friends from past who were members and were extremely happy. The club has a self-restaurant, grill and fridge for beers where club members ocassionally have get togethers. My friends were often sailing in Zurich and taking part of all kind of competitions around Europe.

We used to sail out of Richterswil Horn, where the Wassersportverein Richterswil has a handful of boats including Lasers, but AIUI they only accept new members once a year at their AGM. You might try Lago (I think it's called) near Zurich Casino. I think most of the villages around the lake have sailing clubs so you probably just need to Google them and contact them individually, but I have the impression they often focus on the youth side.

Bear in mind that winds on Lake Zurich are extremely flaky and storms can come up really quickly - as in dead calm to F8 in 15 minutes. We had to give up practical offerings on Lake Zurich because the unpredictability of the weather made it completely non-viable.
We now do all our practical work in the Ionian; which has almost perfect winds most of the time, so if you were interested in taking a week and maybe even mix'n'matching dinghies and island-hopping by yacht, drop me a line
