Today. LOL.

I keep being distracted from my book - first a royal wedding, now ice hockey.
2:1 - I'm kind of surprised.

Re: I love Canada but...

well, well, 3:1.

Wasn't it the Canadians we used to "import" to play ice-hockey for us?

Or is that what they do right now?
Time to study the team-plan, maybe.

True, and I know/knew several.

Meanwhile for this, ALL are locals (i.e. everyone pulls their countrymen out of NHL, etc, for the event) !

Thanks for "making" me watch this! Quite spectacular

Will the Swiss pull this through? Shouldn't the Brits start betting on this now?

They pulled off the impossible!

The Swedes are another question.

Think IKEA!

According to my Swedish partner the Swiss stand no chance.

(Canadians must have thought the same...)

Would be nice for the Swiss tho to finally win their first final. As a Dutch football enthousiast I know all to well the pain of losing to many WC finals....)

Re: I love Canada but...

Any good suggestions where to watch the hockey tonight (other than at home)? Zürich or Rapperswil vicinity

(OH who almost exclusively disses everything from his homeland in favour of this place suddenly changing his tune)

Wouldn't it be safer for a Swede to watch this at home tonight?

Just noticed, you're a Swede (or your OH, my brain is in fever mode). Nordiska rowing club might be great for this (And many other things involving Swedes). If my OH would not have been Ill she'd be there screaming and drinking while shouting for the Swedes.

Meanwhile, 1:0, in favor of the Swiss!

1:0 you mean
That was done by the boy who had to go on the bench last night, no?

Re: I love Canada but...

1:1 after the first third.

BUT.. Swiss supporters hold all the advantage

If we win, we get to celebrate with cheap booze
If we lose, we get to comfort ourselves with cheap booze

If Sweden wins, they'll be out of money after the second drink.
If Sweden loses, they'll be out of money after the second drink AND realize they lost still pretty much sober
