Enduro Motorbike partner near Zurich or Basel

Hi all,

my name is Giovanni and I'm new to this forum:)

I live very close to Zurich and I was wondering if there are enthusiasts of adventure bikes around Zurich or Basel area.

I am not super skilled in enduro and I am looking for a partner to ride light trails in Alsace.

Have a nice day you all.
Cheers,
gC

Hi gC,

I am based in Zurich (more specifically Herrliberg).

I am preparing for a big race in December - The roof of Africa, which means I will be racing / riding every weekend, or atleast I plan to :-)

Adventure bikes are bit big for what I do, what do you have?

You can always come along to a trials club or Enduro track.
I ride Yamaha yfz 250 4s, Sherco 2.9 2s Trials bike, KTM 450 exc

I am struggling to find clubs or riding partners, especially a garage where I can keep my bikes.

Let me know.

Cheers

Fred

Hi fellow off-road riders,

I too enjoy riding off the beaten track, but it seems that here in CH itís very limited. I have taken part in the Italian Hardalpitour a few times, so Iím not an enduro rider, but a novice like ADV rider who likes to explore.

I recently moved to Aargau after 20 plus years in Zurich, here I was pleasantly surprised to find a few off-road trails (wide enough for a car) to ride down. These are generally gravel tracks going between farmersí fields. This I never saw in ZH. There was always a no motorised vehicles sign everywhere. I obviously donít take these trails here in AG.
Iím hoping that I find myself on the correct side of the law when I ride these trails at speeds of up to 60 km/h, 2 or 3 gear stuff on my GS.
I was wondering what experiences you have had with the off-road topic here in CH? I hear the Jura some ďlegalĒ trails too, but the whole topic seems to be surrounded with a great deal of ambiguity.
Iím so keen, Iím due to take delivery of the new Tenere 700 at the end of the month.

So let me know your tips & tricks and maybe we head for a ride.

Cheers
Mark

I don't know if you know this project
Transeurotrail
There is also Switzerland on it. It' community run project, it tries to follow rules in every country and it is adventure off road.

I had planned at least some parts for this spring but now I am geographically separated from my adv bike, which is meager old bmw g650 X-Country.

Hi Jaime,

I am a member at the Zuerich TWN Trials club. They have a place called Windlach for training where you can ride on Saturdays. Just google them. Otherwise I have been told there are some other riding places in Basel but I have not been there personally. There is not much happening at the moment because of Corona, but there is usually every second week a Swiss trial competition organised by SAM (Swiss motorbike club / federation - or something like that). You can then have a look if you like trials. There are some guys who offer courses, but my recommendation is to meet guys at a club and ask them for some help.

Cheers
Fred
