| | Looking for rock/alpine climbing partner(s) in Zurich
I am a beginner, recently completed week-long intensive course teaching the basics of safety and teamwork.
Would like to train regularly in local indoor climbing center Gaswerk, then, after acquiring some skills, proceed with climbing actual rocks/mountains.

Hi there,
I am also looking for people to climb with in Zürich! I've been bouldering in Minimum for over a year now and have started rope climbing in Gaswerk Schlieren. I hope to start climbing outside this summer.
The only problem is, I weigh 50kgs and can only partner with someone up to 10kg heavier than me. Drop me a message if you want to meet up!

How much does it take to upgrade to rope climing? Time, effort, gear?

Hi there,
You will have to do a beginners course to learn how to belay first. I did the course in Gaswerk Schlieren in Janary. https://www.kletterzentrum.com/kurse/kursfinder
Its two lessons, each 3 hours long. After that, you will be able to climb top rope. I brought my own harness and belay device as i knew this was something i will really get into. I found rope climbing easier than bouldering but the routes are longer so you did need more stamina. Both is a lot of fun and a great way to de stress after a long day at work | This user would like to thank Modigliani for this useful post: | |

I also lead climb at Gaswerk, and I'm the same weight. Let me know if you'd like to train together.

I was climbing for more than 20 years with girlfriends who were usually 15 or more kilos lighter and it was never a problem, but maybe you need to have some experience for that. With Om this is now easy.

That's why I climb. It is the best for shifting focus when swamped in life. Stamina is ok, I lift. Vertigo will be a bigger problem. |

Hey guys,
Landed yesterday and will be visiting th Gaswerk wall in the next couple of days.
Anyone that wished to train indoors, climb outdoors, do alpine stuff, ice etc. Just drop me a line.
I have dull life nd climbing is all I do, I don’t care about level of experience or grades, just safe fun!

It also goes hand in hand with climbing.
