I think its outrageous that games are cancelled.
The risk of typhoons was always there so they should have had back up venues, without spectators if necessary, for all games.
As it stands, England, France and NZ all get an extra rest before the QFs which is significant in Rugby.
If the Scottish game is to be cancelled, the Irish game should also be cancelled. At least then we also get a rest and avoid some definite injuries which would be picked up against Samoa.
It’s outrages because I would have been sitting either in front of ITV at home or in a sport’s bar. Either way, would have been interesting which team Springboks would have played against in pool A ... if All Blacks had lost against Italy (impossible) or Scotland, Ireland or Japan had come on top of the group.

I think I will have to rely on the kindness of strangers....actually the official site shows tickets available but when you select one it tells you your request exceeds availability.

Re: Rugby World Cup: Japan versus Ireland

I’m glad that Springboks pulled through in the first half by defending so well and then by scoring some more in the second half. Nerve wracking performance against the Brave Blossoms. These beasts are not kittens to play against.

I can only hope that we will play equally well against the Wales next Sunday. I will be either fixed to ITV at home or go to the local pub.

P.S. I will even abstain from alcohol, if it’s gonna jinx the score and help the cause. Go Bokke!

South Africa looked very good in the second half. Frankly, if that French lock did not make the cheap elbow shot to the chin and get the red card, I don't think Wales would have pulled through. They were beyond lucky in my view.

I pick South Africa for the win . Jacek, one can never abstain from alcohol while watching rugby

So I just got a ticket for the Wales v South Africa game.

Now it's all guns blazing to get the ticket for the big one (sorry to any Welsh or Boks)

Wow!! Well done you! What an amazing experience you will have. Go England! I am not an All Blacks fan. My husband thinks they are the best two teams in the tournament thus far. Should be an incredible match!

Re: Rugby World Cup: Japan versus Ireland

Well done England! What a match. Loved the "V" formation during the Hakka. And what a brilliant start in terms of ball handling. England's defense was fierce. I think their defense was the key in the end. The All Blacks never got into any rhythm.

I think what I valued most was how "clean" the play was. Not many penalties called and other than one, very few cheap shots that I saw in the game.

I also liked how England left the field - not gloating but respectful. Their job is not done and they know it.

Tomorrow's match should be very interesting. I pick South Africa but one never knows...

Wales have got a few weaknesses. The Springboks are playing to their potential, tackling well, excellent with ball in hand. It will be a tough game good luck. We're waiting for you or Wales.

Well done Springboks, that had to be the hardest fought game of the tournament. Ball handling errors on both sides. Neither side short of aggression, both wanted it. The way SA defended on 60 minutes with the Wales attack was phenomenal. I fully expected Wales to score, SA were having none of it.
We'll see you on Saturday.

Completely agree! What a hard fought, gritty match. That said, thought there were far too many kicks from both sides. Not the most exciting match to watch - until the last 20 minutes or so - but a win is a win

It was a nerve-wracking performance. Both teams played equally well, scrum packs weighed about 900kg each team, excellent defense on both sides. The Boks made too many costly ball handling errors but the first try came just in time. Soon after, the Wales replied accordingly by scoring the 2nd try in the match. Small margin of points based on penalties conceded. Could have gone either way. Congrats to both teams that played very well. At that level a right momentum always counts with small margin of points which is all that matters in the end.

Of course we are happy with the victory! Frankly, the Springboks must play several times better next week against England than they played today against Wales. Those errors would have been penalized and their asses kicked.

Re: Rugby World Cup: Japan versus Ireland

It was one of the slowest, error ridden and most boring matches of the tournament. It was mostly a kick-fest until the last 20 minutes. Frankly England have nothing to worry about next week.

It was boring because it was tactical. Too many errors both sides - agreed.

Ok. Let’s see next week
