Status of NMN in Switzerland?

I just finished reading David Sinclair's book Lifespan and like to give NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide) a try as a dietary supplement. Anyone knows what its status is in Switzerland or who regulates dietary supplements here? NMN can be found on Amazon but would anyone know of a brick and mortar store that sells it here?

Hmmm, the stuff that made old mice young again at Washington University?
It's in Brokkoli, Edamame and Avocados - all easily available in any supermarket here.

Doesn't really seem available here in pill-form. So I guess amazon.de it is for you.

Did the "do I still hate Brokkoli" test the other week. Pitty I still did.

On the other hand, now that they make us feel guilty about eating avocados (water it takes to grow it, gasoline to get it here) we can say it, we eat it to be able to die young when the earth collapses.

I bought a few times from here:

In CH I found one shop that stocks NMN, but haven't tried it:

Re: Status of NMN in Switzerland?

I just got a mail from AFEGA (one of the three places I get NMN from) which indicates that NMN could be banned until the EU adds it to their list of 'approved food supplements'. He's still selling it, but that could stop in the next few days. Here's the English translation:

We have just received a letter from the Food Safety Office containing the following passage:

I. Due to the company's intended purpose for oral or sublingual ingestion of the product, the present sample is to be assessed as a food within the meaning of Article 2 of Regulation (EC) 178/2002.
According to § 1 Abs. 1 NemV a food supplement in the sense of this regulation is a food that
1. is intended to supplement the general diet,
2. represents a concentrate of nutrients or other substances with a nutritional or physiological effect alone or in combination and
3. is placed on the market in dosed form, in particular in the form of capsules, lozenges, tablets, pills and other similar dosage forms, powder bags, liquid ampoules, bottles with dropper inserts and similar dosage forms of liquids and powders for absorption in small measured quantities.
The sample is therefore to be assessed as a food supplement within the meaning of Section 1 Paragraph 1 NemV.

II. Currently, 'nicotinamide mononucleotide' has no corresponding entries in the Union list for approved novel foods according to Art. 6 Para. 1 Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 i. V. m. Art. 8 Regulation (EU) 2015/2283.
According to Art. 6 (2) of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283, only novel foods that are approved and listed in the Union list may be placed on the market as such or used in and on foods in accordance with the conditions and labeling regulations specified in the Union list.
We therefore assume that the present sample "NMN - purity> 98%, nicotinamide mononucleotide" is a new type of food within the meaning of Art. 3 Paragraph 2 Letter a) Number i) Regulation (EU) 2015/228, which does not correspond to Art. 6 para. 2 Regulation (EU) 2015/2283.

Hey, it's not quackery. It's hacking the body

PS. another great place to put a covid19 vaccine: supplements. No one cares about the actual contents or risks.

In my experience, NMN has a positive effect, but:

1) That may be a placebo effect (but that's still okay).

2) It needs to be taken with a sirtuin activator (resveratrol and/or pterostilbene).

3) It doesn't rise to the 'old mice dancing' effect, but mice studies very often don't apply well to humans. I suspect that's because r-selected species have more low-hanging fruit that can be fixed compared to longer living K-selected species where evolution has already sorted this out.

4) It's way too expensive still.
