Arth goldau to Rigi by Road Bike

Hello,

I frequently see bike riders arriving up to Rigi, by the train station. Does anyone know where exactly the trail/road up starts?
A biker once mentioned ‘Arth’ but he was not specific.

Thank you !

I can't answer your question, but the website Switzerland Mobility has detailed maps of many of the biking trails in Switzerland.

Maybe that'll help.

Entering the title of this thread into gives a map with several routes (plus many other links).

From Berner Höhe in Goldau, take an asphalt road up to Klosterli. From there, go towards Heirihütte and continue until you reach the tramweg. Ride in the direction of Rigi Staffel.

Thank you for all the replies.
I should have added I'm really not very map/tec able, but I think I've a better idea now.

This time of year, you'll want to follow the smell of the blooming Holunder until it starts to become a bit less flowery and more piquant. At that point, keep your ears open for the sound of a busy bee hive in an old chestnut tree. Turn right.
When the crickets stop chirping you'll know that you're almost there.

Re: Arth goldau to Rigi by Road Bike

I rode from Goldau to Rigi Kaltbad today and back. The complete journey took about two hours. It is doable with a road bike but...

from Rigi Fruttli onwards it's more or less a gravel road
from Rigi Klosterli to Heirihütte, it's a steep paved road so you may have to push the bike. Luckily it's not far.

I saw someone on a road bike heading up as I was flying down.

Remember to start at Berner Höhe (on the outskirts of Goldau as you're going towards Lauerz)
