Re: GAA in Lausanne

Lads and Ladies,

GAA, Gaelic Football, Ladies Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie have all grown significantly in the last few months and years all over Switzerland.

Zurich still has a damn good Camogie and Hurling team and they train and play all the way through the spring and summer. they always look for new members so come and play.

Zurich has a mens and ladies gaelic football team that has won some serious silverware this year and they also recently had their 10th anniversary game with over 40 players men and women taking the field.

Saint Gallen Bears are tipping away with about 13 men and 4 or 5 girls. come and join

Geneva Gaels played in their first european tournament in maastricht with 13 or so men. get in contact, get involved

Basel have the start of a team maybe. Players in Luzern, Aarau, Neuchatel, Bern, Freibourg and down in the Italian area have all been in contact.

At the last european tournament of the year they were over 60 players representing switzerland there (48 men and 13 ladies)

There are people all over Switzerland involved now from all ages.

Four members of the European County Board live in Switzerland so we are trying our best to grow it all over at all ages and levels. we are working on securing funding to help grow this project from youth all the way up. we hope to have a swiss cup next year in maybe hurling, football and ladies football so it would be amazing to get as many people involved as we can.

If you don't know what it means then the post isn't for you.

It would take an Irish person to understand and know exactly what is meant!

Re: GAA in Lausanne

Hi There,

for the latest posts,

I play for Zurich Inneoin,

Geneva Gaels is quite active. They're possibly easy enough to find on fb.

Good Luck and enjoy Switzerland!

Re: GAA in Lausanne

Yep, Zurich Inneoin GAA Club is still here with ladies' and men's football teams and camogie and hurling teams too.

Plus there's now a GAA club in Basel ('Basel GAA' on Facebook) which is of no use to the original poster in Lausanne I'm guessing, but might be of interest to anyone nearer to Basel
