Skiing/Boarding Fri 16th January

I've just checked the weather forecast and it seems the run of good weathrer we have been having is shortly going to come to an end. Intermittent Rain/Snow forecast from Sunday.

So I am planning on leaving work early on Friday to go for a half day on the slopes. I am not 100% sure yet where I will go, but I am planning on leaving Zurich at about 11am.

If anyone is interested in joining me then get in touch through the forum. I can offer 1 or 2 people a lift from Zurich and will bring you back to Uster train station which is 2 stops from HB or one from Stadelhofen.

Re: Skiing/Boarding Fri 16th January

I'd love to go, however as I only have ski lesson 2 tomorrow, and at present have the turning ability of a super tanker, and the stopping power Totenhams goal keeper.... I fear that it wouldn't be much fun for you... funny most likely though.

Do you do the midweek thing often?

Sent you a PM, but not sure if it went or not because the browser buggered up.

Anyway, your turning like a Supertanker should go well with my falling like a stone. I wouldn't worry about it.

No sadly, Mama G and I have a ski lesson in Flumseberg tomorrow. I learnt more in a few hours today than the whole of last Saturday.

Re: Skiing/Boarding Fri 16th January

It sounds like two great days of non-stop skiing I will try to head towards Elm tomorrow as the connection is smooth by one train only. Enjoy the lessons and keep your legs parallel kwa-kwa. I got me a helmet today so tomorrow off to the challenging piste.

Glad you got your helmet it can save your life there was a nasty accident last week 2 people hit each other and the 1 wearing the helmet survived the 1 not wearing a helmet died.

Another tip would be to buy a back brace they can also save you

I believe you will have to take a bus to Elm from Schwanden

Jaysus Papa G, you'll give me a big head next!

It was a great afternoon, nice weather, good snow and good company. Good luck with the lessons in Flumserberg and don't kick my ass too bad the next time you are skiing with me.

It will remain part of my multi tasking habits while working As long as my envy of the skiing and cycling you are or will be doing, stays in check.

Yeah, as Eire explained me in PM there might be a problem in catching a bus back from Elm to Schwanden so I will reconsider the destination ski station for tomorrow.

We actually might catch up in another resort. Are you up for skiing tomorrow as well?

I think Dakman could have some severe public transport issues getting to any ski resort in Switzerland tomorrow!

Hi Eire - what do you make of the weather forecast for tomorrow..

Flumserberg says up to 65 km/h winds, doesn't sound too nice

http://www.flumserberg.ch/winter/en/...er/weather.htm

And Lenzerheide with a probability of 60% of winds > 45 km/h

http://www.lenzerheide.com/sites/con..._livecams.html

I don't think I'd mind a few snow showers, but if it's going to feel really nasty with the wind, I'm not so sure...

Sutter, you are quite right. Today when I was blazing with ultrasonic speed flat on I realized that helmet was very usuful.

We did with Eire and Nick daredevil runs at Valbella close to Lenzerheide. Great company and lot of fantastic skiing combined with awesome view from the top of mountains (ca 2500m).
