Does anybody know if there are some English Dance Classes in Zurich?

Are you interested in dance classes in English? what kind of dance? I'm trying to set something up so interested to hear your feedback.

I don`t think one needs language to learn to dance?
You just follow what the instructor does, yes?

Actually I think its really important to understand what the teacher is saying to avoid injury! Its also more relaxing to concentrate on dancing and not translating languages...i think!

Yes, sorry, I was thinking more along the lines of classic style dance - but I believe that`s all been eclipsed now by zambastyle electro techno hip hop stuff etc. Those could cause injury I guess if not talked into the movements beforehand!

Does any of you know where they could possibly offer dance classes for absolute beginners in English?


Dancing is something I would like to start, .. I feel like as I have never danced in my past I missed out a lot!


I would not even know what kind of dance, .. just something very basic, that allows me to learn few steps.

Isn't dancing the perfect way to learn German? I mean, anything they tell you they will also show you.
And there will definitely be no theory test at the end.

Take a look at http://www.leroc.ch and https://www.facebook.com/leroczurich/ run by Eric who is Swiss but runs the classes on Thursdays in English. He also runs events such as monthly dance parties, boat dance trips, outdoor dancing, group dance trips to Modern Jive events in the UK, Germany, France... If you contact him he may let you try a class for free or a reduced price.

In case you are interested in West Coast Swing, you could try WCSZ. The classes are in English (for all levels) and my experience there was quite good.

ASVZ has many dance classes with different styles and quite cheap prices.
But most likely they are given in German
