Hi Solum,
Welcome to the site. I have been Kitesurfing for several years now, although not so much in the last couple of years.
Unfortuantely I have not yet done it in Switzerland, I would like to try and get out but living in Zurich I think I am a couple of hours drive to the nearest lake to do it, and with no car at the moment I dont fancy lugging all the kit by train.
Also I dont fancy kiting in lakes, I imagine that it can be fairly gusty as nearly all the lakes are surrounded by mountains. Unless you are on a huge stretch of water like Lake Garda this is going to interfere.
If you are a beginner and want to get a good taster and lessons then get stuck in by booking a 2 week Holiday to Egypt Red Sea, resorts like Hurghada, El Gouna, Moon Beach, offer shallow warm water in lagoons where each day it blows constantly between force 4-6.
Crack the sport there, then perhaps try the gustly deep, cold water lakes. I would defiantely go down to the lake though and check it out and see if there is a school.
I think I am going to do some wake boarding on Zurich lake instead, asi ts illegal to Kite.
Another place to check out in Europe which is the Kitesurf mecca is Tarifa Spain, but dont go there until you can hold your own, it can be well windy and there is not the safety of shallows waters, with a man in a boat watching you as there is in Egypt.
