[Zurich] Seek short-term gym membership (weights)

...the following hotel:

Hotel Bristol
Stampfenbachstrasse 34
8035 Zurich, Switzerland

Any recommendations? It needs to be very close by because I will not have an automobile, and I need the option to pay by the day without requiring a membership. I will be in Zurich for 2 weeks later this month.

Thanks

Re: Travelling from US on business... Looking for a Gym in Zurich near...

you could always run around the lake or take the train to Uetliburg and sprint up to the top - better than any Gym

but there again there are the Migros Gyms / Spa's

I forgot to mention that I am mostly interested in weight lifting (machines and free weights).

ah Hotel Bristol Garni, I remember that well from oh-so-many years ago.

A lot of the gyms are geared towards non-free stuff here. The hotel does not have one either.

I assume you're "built" and need to keep that on? Or are you simply looking for exercise?

I'll change the title of the thread as you're looking for short-term gym membership....that might help.

Just wanting to keep my exercise program going since we will be on travel for two weeks. Definitely not "built".

Re: [Zurich] Seek short-term gym membership (weights)

Hi there,

Firstly, you might want to check with the hotel, as many offer basic workout facilities (although not usually with free weights) or have arrangements with nearby gyms.

I know of two gyms near to your area, www.mcfit.ch and http://www.activfitness.ch/seiten/studio/central.htm, but I don't know about short term membership. I'd suggest you call or drop in and ask. I'm sure McFit has a single entry option. It definitely has lots of free weights.

There's a thread here where we discuss some of the Zürich gyms

http://www.englishforum.ch/sports-fi...ght=gyms+mcfit

including this excellent review of McFit:
Gyms in Zurich

Good luck,
