End-season closing dates of Ski resorts.

Usually most resorts close around Easter time ... anyone know if some might be extending that?

I know that Engelberg always stays open 'til late May but I was wondering if resorts generally might be pushing out the season a bit longer to make up for the poor conditions early on. Or is the snow really terrible now?

Re: End-season closing dates of Ski resorts.

hi Gav, I don't know about the bigger resorts but there was an item on last night's news that said Hoch Ybrig will be open during Easter, and apparently the first day of the long holiday weekend - that would be Friday - was a big success, more skiiers than at Christmas. The ski lift operators, restaurant owners, etc expect this holiday weekend to make up somewhat for business being so light at Christmas.

They didn't mention how snow conditions are, but the people they interviewed on the news said it's great skiing because the weather is so mild.

However, I can't find anything on hoch-ybrig.ch about when they plan to close out the season.

Pretty much all of the Bernese Oberland guys will be closing down after Easter. That said, if there is snow, Grindelwald-Wengen-Murren will stay open to the end of April. Gstaad you can ski on 3000 until the end of April etc.
Am hoping to get some skiing in next week at either Adelboden or EnglsiAlp.
